"Russ was an incredible find! I’ve hired many contractors off of Angi.com, and he is by far the most professional, meticulous, thoughtful, and truly talented in his area. I would hire him for any finish carpentry work without hesitation."

"We needed a complete rebuild of our decks. (there were two ) and we contacted Rick’s Custom Fencing and Decking. We really appreciated Rick’s ability to change a somewhat complicated process into something that actually became a fun project. Miguel, Lane and Josiah were the builders and they were outstanding craftsmen."

"We couldn?t be happier with the deck Jose built for us. From start to finish, the entire process was smooth, efficient, and honestly impressive to watch. Jose and his employee worked so well together?they were clearly experienced, organized, and incredibly hardworking. The final result is beyond what we imagined. The deck is not only beautifully designed, but it also feels extremely solid and well-built. You can tell they paid attention to every detail and took pride in their craftsmanship. What really stood out to us was how efficient they were without ever cutting corners. They showed up ready to work, stayed focused, and completed everything in a timely manner while still delivering top-quality results. If you?re looking for someone reliable, skilled, and professional, I would absolutely recommend Jose. We are so grateful for the work he did and will definitely be reaching out to him again for future projects."

"Ironwood did a fantastic job of installing 2 pre-hung doors and a custom installed front door. The staff were very patient and helpful as we had to pivot a few times on how the front door install could be accomplished amid challenging limitations in the framing. We are very happy with the results and look forward to working with them again!"

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

A few signs that you need a new door frame include:

  • The door no longer fits properly in its frame and sticks or scrapes.

  • You notice cracks, holes, or rotting.

  • You feel a draft coming from around the door when it’s closed.

  • You find yourself frequently needing to make repairs.

Accurate measurements, sturdy materials, and seamless integration with other structures.

Framing a basement takes three to five days, on average, when completed by a professional, though it may take longer for a larger space. Keep in mind this doesn’t include the time to complete the design, obtain permits, and install the drywall on the framing. On average, fully finishing a basement takes an average of 45 days.

Yes, professional installations include reinforced corner posts to ensure durability.

Converting a carport into a garage can vary in difficulty depending on its configuration, the condition of the foundation or slab, and its location relative to the house. The process has a lot in common with a home addition, but you can often skip non-essential finishes like fine flooring, trim work, or even drywall and HVAC. The conversion requires experience with drywall, insulation, and other building materials to ensure it’s done safely and correctly. While it might be possible for a DIYer with the proper tools and skills to do the work, it is a complicated and potentially dangerous job. If you’re new to basic construction, it's best to leave this project to the professionals.
