"Douglas was responsive, polite and punctual. He was able to start sooner than anticipated and he and his crew basically performed a miracle on my yard. Douglas even worked around my bee hives and problem solved with me on how to protect both the bees and the crew when they needed to use machines near the hives (cheesecloth and duct tape with a sheet over the hives). I've been fighting the blackberries for years and I thought it was a losing battle. I've hired Ramos Clean Up before and I'll hire them again if I ever need to because the quality and price can't be beat. My husband had gotten a couple different quotes and was even told by one business that he didn't know if his crew would do the job. Ramos Clean Up is worth every penny. I am so unbelievably happy."

"Nikk, the contractor, pressure washed the house, scraped the wood of peeling and bubbling paint. caulked and applied 2 coats of premium paint on house and trim. In prepping he carefully masked window, was careful of my plants, and he was also careful of the neighbors vehicle sitting in driveway by protecting it with a tarp. We had rain during the painting which caused brief stops until weather cleared. Nikk brought in a crew to complete the job in a timely manner. A detail oriented person. He also cleaned my gutters including flushing downspouts for a reasonable price."

"It went very well. He was able to remove almost 90% of the black spots on the siding when others we have hired don’t even get 50%. He even volunteered to finish a job I started which I appreciated. I appreciated his attitude and work ethic. Polite and sincere. Offered extremely good rate. We will definitely hire him again. We have a 2700 sq ft 2 story home with a daylight basement. A challenge to do the upper floor on ladders."

"

Pete and one helper removed two old decks, disposed of the material and installed two new decks using Timber Tech material.  The new deck total about 400 square feet and was built in two levels with a 5 1/2" step up between the two decks.

The whole project was completed within the time frame Pete predicted and WITHIN BUDGET.  The quality of his workmanship could not have been better.  He is a true craftsman.

"Excellent, excellent, excellent!  We are extremely happy with Ken and his entire crew at Ken's Painting Unlimited. We shopped around for many estimates and Ken's estimate was excellent and he kept his word throughout the entire process. He is honest and has a lot of integrity. Each and every member of his painting crew was professional, skillful, and cordial. These guys rock! They worked fast, efficiently, and neatly. They power-washed the home; then they carefully masked off windows, doors, concrete and plants all around the house, and also re-caulked some holes and crack on exterior and interior walls before painting. They did a fantastic job painting the entire exterior walls and trims of home and also interior high-ceiling foyer. And the clean-up  afterwards, wow! Amazing! Our home looks like a band new house! Love it! Not only are both my husband and I happy and impressed with Ken and his crew, but so are our neighbors...two of them are already planning to use Ken's Painting Unlimited
for their upcoming paint jobs too! This entire experience has been nothing short of outstanding; the only tiny issue may be trying to get in touch with Ken regularly...He is so much in demand, that the ongoing correspondence may not be as frequent as you may like it; However, he does come through, he sticks to his word, his work is first-class, and his crew is really as his company
motto says, "simply the best!" Now, that's the truth; you will be extremely pleased with the outcome! I highly recommend and would use this company again, and again!

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Composite decking may never warp, or it may warp quickly. Several factors can influence the rate of warping, including the material's quality, installation method, and installation location. Generally speaking, high-quality materials that have been installed properly are drastically less prone to warping.

Any wood deck provides some ventilation to the area below, as is the nature of that type of deck design. However, areas that experience excessive humidity and associated moisture benefit greatly from a dedicated ventilation system in the form of strip vents. This addition helps the various wood boards contract and expand evenly throughout the years and reduces the chances of twisting, warping, and buckling.

A deck doesn’t have to be perfectly level. Many pros even recommend a gentle slope to ensure proper drainage and increase longevity. The ideal gentle slope is about 1/8 to 1/4 inch per foot away from the property, leading water away from the home to prevent pooling and reduce the risk of damage. It also minimizes rot, mold, and other moisture-related problems.

Yes, it is possible to build a small, basic deck for $5,000, particularly if you use less expensive materials and a simple design. To stay within this budget, consider a size under 10x12 feet and use affordable materials like pressure-treated wood or cedar. While the general cost for deck building ranges from $4,350 to $12,560, with an average around $8,200, some projects can be completed for as little as $4,350. You can also save on labor costs by doing the work yourself, but be aware that mistakes could end up costing more than hiring a professional. A contractor may have a higher upfront cost, but they can ensure a safe, stable deck that will last.

Composite decking requires a solid foundation, substructure, or subframe to ensure stability. This base is typically composed of posts, beams, joists, and footings. The frame's joists can be built from various materials like composite, plastic, timber, or metal, as long as the base can support the deck's weight without shifting. A professional deck builder might recommend installing the frame on a solid concrete base for added durability. The final design and materials for the substructure will depend on your budget, the type of deck, and environmental conditions.
