"John Martin and his team have done great work for us. They have done several projects for us ( Shadow Box fence for our backyard, Extension wall for our staircase, capped the under side of our front porch/deck, and a few other things. John always answers his calls or returns messages asap and their work is top notch. I would recommend them to anyone looking for General/Full Home Building to give them a call."

"I had a great experience with Bar T Bar. John is clearly very knowledgeable about all things home improvement and is super fair / honest. I appreciated that I was kept in the loop throughout the entire project. John and Mark were very professional and they stayed right on budget and right on time. Very impressed with them overall and I can’t wait to reach out again for our next project!!"

"They did a good job. She had to submit like a photo but my daughter had them work on the central are of the loft. The deal was for one room. She got a lot of good ideal from her and it was worth it for her. They were professional and I did not hear anything negative."

"As above.   Begin date was delayed because of a very rainy season.   Worker appeared at my address first, then sent to my daughter's home in Beaverton.  He did sight a few dry-rotted boards but did not have replacement boards with him.  He completed the job of the entire deck as was commissioned well and it is holding up well.

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

The first thing to consider when converting a tub into a shower is whether you’d like to simply change out the tub or undertake a complete bathroom remodel. If you’re unsure, reviewing bathroom remodeling ideas can help you decide whether you’re satisfied with your space or could use a change. From there, decide if you’ll handle the job yourself or hire a pro, and then set a budget.

An alcove tub is designed to fit into a three-walled enclosure in a bathroom. A drop-in tub, on the other hand, is placed into a custom-built frame or enclosure. This frame can be fitted to an alcove, making a drop-in tub a viable alternative if you want a more custom or spa-like look. Because the frame is custom, drop-in tubs offer more design flexibility and a wider range of materials, such as cultured marble or tile, compared to the simpler acrylic or fiberglass of a typical alcove tub. The frame for a drop-in tub can also be placed anywhere in the bathroom it fits, not just in an alcove.

You can use a new bathtub after 24 to 48 hours. It's best to double-check with your plumber, though, because the time can depend on the type of bathtub installed and special process or materials used. For example, certain sealants need longer to cure, or if the installation involves extensive plumbing work, the plumber might want you to wait.

The reasons not to install flooring underneath a bathtub outweigh the benefits. A properly installed bathtub will keep water from reaching the unprotected subfloor underneath. Installing a tub on top of finished flooring can lead to damage and scratches to the new floor. Also, a small leak from a tub drain may be more difficult to notice if finished flooring impedes water drips.

The water supply lines run underneath the bathtub. These two pipes deliver cold and hot water to the bathtub—the cold water comes from the main water supply, and the hot water comes from the water heater. The pipes are made from copper, cream-colored plastic CPVC, or red and blue PEX tubing.
