"I was expecting one technician but they sent a replacement. The persons name was Quintin Moore. Quintin and his assistant did a great job of repairing an old EV connection that was put in improperly by another company. They added a new NEMA 14-50 plug to the outside of my garage for another EV charger but I ordered the wrong charger that came with a NEMA 6-50 plug. They offered to install the replacement when it comes. I will make my decision after I get it."

"This isn't a property that I own, it's quite an investment for me to choose such an expense, but Even though he knew I couldn't afford what he was offering and likely couldn't afford it from anyone else, Mr. McNatt was still extremely helpful with his direction and advice for me. So much so that I will be calling him for my next electrical need."

"This electrician was straight forward, honest and did great with the clean up after the fact. His rates were reasonable and inline with other quotes I’ve received. The electrician’s name I felt with primarily was Brock. Definitely will use this company again. One thing I liked is that he genuinely seemed to be more concerned about addressing my concerns than finding ways to charge me for everything thing under the Sun as other electricians have in the past. Lastly, I liked that Brock helped to coordinate everything with our local utility,OGE to make the transition a smooth one. Flanco Electric was by far, better than the previous electrical company we had, where because of their inexperience we were without power for 4 days. What a Nightmare! Seriously! Oh, no pressure tactics were used also, instead he explained what needed to be done in order to address my concerns while still meeting OGE’s standards as well as some changes the city required as well. Very thankful for his approach and demeaner."

Ev Charger Installer questions, answered by experts

Yes, electricians must be licensed, certified, and in most cases, insured. Licensing requirements vary by state and local municipality, but most U.S. municipalities require electricians to hold an electrical contractor’s license. It's always a good practice to confirm requirements with your local municipality. Even if licensing is not required in your area, hiring a licensed and experienced electrician often leads to a better end result.

A license is a legal requirement to operate a business and is necessary for pulling project permits. Certifications, on the other hand, are typically voluntary and demonstrate a certain level of expertise. In some cases, a certified electrician may send an apprentice or journeyman to perform the work, but they must operate under a primary electrician who holds the proper license.

Before hiring, you should verify the electrician's license, insurance coverage, and any third-party certifications. You can use Angi’s contractor licensing search to confirm a pro's license status. Additionally, businesses with the “Angi Approved” badge on our platform meet strict criteria, including having the required state and local licenses, passing a background check, and maintaining a high average rating.

The cost of installing a 240-volt outlet for an electric car averages between $175 and $300. Depending on the type of outlet as well as labor costs, you might pay as little as $130 or upwards of $400. Hiring a professional electrician makes up the bulk of the expense but ensures a safe and code-compliant installation.

Having a Level 2 charger can increase your home value, especially as electric vehicles become more popular. Homebuyers who have EVs or are interested in getting one will appreciate the convenience of a ready-to-use charging station. The added value can vary based on location and buyer preferences.

You can use outdoor electrical outlets to conveniently power landscaping equipment such as electrical lawnmowers, leaf blowers, and pressure washers. From a recreational standpoint, outdoor outlets are handy for powering electric grills, mini-fridges, and stereos. They're also helpful when it's time to string Christmas lights on your home and around your property.

Local electricians with experience in your area understand the local building codes, which is very important when doing new electrical work. They also have experience with the kind of electrical problems homes in your location may have, and even the components that were used in the original construction, which leads them to make faster and better decisions.
