While he was at the home (to do my deck) he showed me where my upper deck was coming away from my house. The deck was literally hanging from a thread to the home. I really think he may have saved our lives. My deck also needed to be painted, I did that job with MUCH help from him. (Not easy to spay Behr Deck over.) I replaced many of the nails with deck screws, his advice. I really think he did a lot of the work (remember he was there to do the tile) He also secured the deck with new 4x4 and jacked the deck up and reattached it to the home. (Did I mention this was a 2nd floor deck and water was coming in behind the deck into the 1st floor wall----this has been repaired)
One more miracle this man accomplished...my A/C TRANE quit running and he was the first to notice it that early Saturday Morning, just in time for me to get to Tractor Supply to get the correct part to fix it and he took the time to wash all the Cottonwood and grass that build up on the coils. I do wash the A/C units out in the early spring. He did teach me that since I have all those trees I should probably do that more than once a year and the coil cleaner in a can stuff does make a difference.
I did pay him an extra $200 for the work and would had paid more. I think he forgot about the A/C day so I should give him $50 more.
I guess this review makes me sound like a lazy dumb home owner, I thought I really took good care of my home, I guess I do need help. So thank you Mike and yes Thank you Angie List.
"David arrived before the time scheduled with his own tool bag and got to work!!! He put together my king sized bed frame with the led lights effortlessly I’d definitely recommend him and use his service again and again."
In Lawton, leaving packed boxes in garages or sheds exposes them to humidity and temperature swings, which can warp or damage contents. Storing items directly on concrete floors increases the risk of moisture damage. Overfilling boxes or using low-quality packing materials can lead to breakage. To protect your belongings, move them promptly into climate-controlled spaces and use sturdy, well-sealed containers.

In Lawton, homes built before the 1980s may have narrow hallways, tight staircases, or split-level entries that challenge moving large furniture. Shifting foundations from local clay soil can cause doors to stick or floors to slope, making maneuvering bulky items harder. If you notice uneven thresholds or additions with different floor heights, consult a local moving service for a walkthrough before your move.
Helpful?
In Lawton, it’s best to schedule moving services during spring or fall, when temperatures are comfortable and severe storms are less frequent. If you’re coordinating with school calendars, military relocations, or after major renovations, plan well in advance. Local movers often book up quickly from May to September, so securing your date at least a month ahead helps ensure a smooth transition.
Helpful?
Be cautious of Lawton moving companies that offer vague or unusually low quotes, request large deposits, or avoid in-home assessments. Reliable movers provide detailed written estimates, explain insurance coverage, and conduct thorough inventories. If you’re moving due to military orders, confirm experience with PCS moves and secure storage options. Always verify references and ensure the company has a local presence before signing a contract.
Helpful?
Combining your move with home upgrades in Lawton can be a smart strategy. Completing projects like interior painting, new flooring, or HVAC system checks before moving in lets you avoid moving furniture twice and keeps dust off your belongings. Local moving companies often coordinate well with contractors, and scheduling both services during milder months can help prevent weather-related delays and protect your investment.
