"People may think this is a paid review or that I am a relative of Mr. Beard, but I never met or knew anything about him before he showed up to do the work my wife hired him for. This man, and his assistant did a fantastic job. Anthony's work ethic and pride in a job well done is beyond reproach. A true professional small business owner that believes in doing a job to the best of his abilities. His initial estimate was to sand, stain and clear with 2 coats. A fair deal, he worked to up-sale for a 3rd coat of clear for an additional price, which I agreed to. I am so glad I did the difference from the second coat and the third are amazing. I cannot say enough good about this man. Integrity is awesome. If you need true hardwood floors refinished and are in his range, he is most certainly the man for the job."

Floor Sanding questions, answered by experts

There are a couple of ways you can determine the depth of your well. One method is to use a device called a well sounder. This tool has a long measuring tape containing a sensor to alert you once the end reaches the water.

Or you can DIY it by using a long tape measure with a half-filled bottle of water attached to it. Lower the tape measure into your well. Once you feel tension on the tape, you’ll know the bottle has reached your static water level. This will give you an approximate idea of your well’s depth.

Professional well contractors may use electromagnetic mapping to look for places with a high likelihood of water. Water access can vary significantly, even on the same property, so it can be difficult to know where to drill if you don’t have specialized tools to look for water.

A land survey includes the layout of a single property, including precise measurements and to-scale drawings of boundary lines, land improvements, and sometimes other features, like topography and drainage information. A plat map includes the layouts and boundary lines of several adjacent plots and basic structure measurements. Surveys are normally more valuable for homeowners and buyers, and plat maps are for governmental use.

The small lines on the tape measure either indicate inches, fractions of an inch, or centimeters and millimeters. On the imperial unit side (aka the inches side), the longest lines indicate inches, followed by the next shortest lines that indicate a half-inch, and then the quarter, eighth, and sixteenth-inch. On the metric side, the lines break down meters, centimeters, and millimeters.

ALTA/ACSM surveys are the most comprehensive type of land survey and, as such, tend to be the most expensive. These surveys have standardized guidelines and reports and are used in many kinds of real estate transactions to ensure consistent and accurate information is available for properties.
