"I had Tulsa Exterior Cleaning come out and clean my driveway, garbage bins, and house! Adam did a great job. I was nervous about my siding being damaged because Iâ ve heard horror stories but Adam assured me that property protection is his highest priority and he delivered! Very happy with the results! I will definitely be using him again next time!"

"Responded quickly to my quote request. Came out quickly and provided a written quote the next day. Booked a time that worked for me. Painted a 15x15x10 bedroom. Listened that I wanted primer and 2 coats of paint. Also got the exact paint I wanted from where I wanted. Some place have done a match for me and it is never exact so I appreciated they listened. Very courteous and answered all of my questions. All and all I am very satisfied and will definitely use Correa Renovation Services again."

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

The overhang, or nosing, of deck steps is another area that will be covered in building code requirements. The noses on your deck steps should have a minimum overhang of ¾ inch. For safety, usability, and code compliance, the nosing of deck steps should not extend past 1¼ inches.

PVC decking tends to be cooler than composite because the material is less dense and absorbs less heat. However, it depends on the deck’s color. A dark-colored PVC deck may run hotter than a light-colored composite deck. If you’re concerned about your deck getting too hot, it’s best to stick to a light color such as beige or gray.

Yes, and in some cases, frozen ground may improve the digging process for footings due to sturdier conditions. It’s easier than working in muddy conditions, which are more common in the spring. Contractors may use machinery that makes this step a breeze, so harder ground shouldn’t affect the building process.

The problems with composite decking include a high rate of expansion and contraction from temperature swings. This characteristic can cause boards to split, delaminate, or peel. In addition, significant movement can cause shrinking, warping, twisting, and bending. For this reason, you should minimize moisture and ensure proper airflow below your deck.

Before installing a new railing, check the condition of the deck frame and joists, especially around the perimeter where posts attach. If boards are loose, soft, or show signs of rot, the structure may need repair. A deck pro can inspect your framing to confirm it meets load-bearing requirements.
