"I live in an apartment and my property management company contracted with Superior for pest control. I and several other residents have been dealing with a cockroach infestation for several months now. During the last treatment visit, the technician was rude and unprofessional in his conduct towards me. When I said that not all the roaches were being killed (this was after two months of treatment), he lashed out and told me, "I'm trying to educate you and you're not listening." He also said that I should not expect all the roaches to be killed because he was just trying to keep them under control, not get rid of all of them. He said, "That's why it's called pest control." I expect exterminators to resolve a pest issue completely, not just make the situation a little better. If this had happened in a home that I owned, I would have kicked this man out immediately and found a different company."

We specialize in stinging insect control, especially honeybee control. There are two regular employees, my son and I. We normally do all the work ourselves. Areas within a reasonable distance of Tulsa are not charged trip charges. A service or inspection charge is $65. All work we perform is guaranteed. When we give an estimate we do not exceed it. Bee removal charges vary upon the job. We provide a 10% discount for seniors over 65 and disabled persons. Swarm removal is either free or $45 in certain cases. We also provide local honey, pollen, and other hive products to the community, and have about 40 beehives at our business site. We give beekeeping lessons and sell beehives to those interested in bees. Together we have over 50 years experience with stinging insect control. For those interested in how bee and wasp control is performed, a detailed description of the various methods can be found at my website.

Animal Removal questions, answered by experts

Probably not. Many imitation nests are meant to be hung from trees or other tall places, but not all yellow jackets nest up high—most species, such as the common yellow jacket and the southern yellow jacket, build nests in the ground.

DIY animal removal is rarely a good idea and is not advised for many reasons. First, these types of animals can carry diseases and, therefore, pose a health risk to you, your family, and your pets if mishandled. Second, depending on your city or municipality, it may be illegal to remove or handle wildlife yourself.

Sealing your home against these animals yourself is also a bad idea. Trapping an animal under your house will cause odor and insect problems when it passes away.

No, ground bees are not detrimental to the health of your lawn. In fact, the small holes created by ground bees can actually offer beneficial aeration which moisturizes and nourishes the ground. Additionally, ground bees are highly regarded as vital pollinators, meaning they help plants to reproduce. Unless you’re battling a severe infestation, leaving ground bees undisturbed can boost the health of your yard and the environment.

Yes, honey bees can sting, but they typically only do it when they feel their hive is threatened. When honey bees are away from their hive, they’re focused on foraging for pollen and nectar, making them unlikely to sting. Only female honey bees, called workers, have stingers, and they will die if they need to use them. Generally, if left undisturbed, honey bees will leave you alone.

To choose a reliable and reputable bee removal specialist, you could start by searching Angi’s database of bee removal specialists. Also, look into local organizations and beekeepers associations.
