"They've installed trim, and also finished up some interior painting that I didn't have time for. I would recommend them to anybody needing similar work done. They're just really professional, and their process was very easy to deal with."

"Andrey did a great job replacing our broken wood siding. He installed a better material than before and used the proper nails compared to what had been done previously. Job was completed the same day as quoted and at the agreed upon price. He communicated clearly throughout the job and responded to all texts promptly."

"The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."

"They are very professional. Always cleaned up after themselves. The job they did was excellent. I also had them put in windows, skirting and guttering as well as the siding. When they said they would be there; they were there."

"Community Builders did a great job on my roof. They also did siding and windows on my home. It has been a few years now, and I have had no issues with the product or the installation. My home energy costs are now very low as well. They offer extensive warranties on their products beyond what the manufacturer offers, and they stand by them."

"I gave a 3 star rating after careful consideration. There is siding and guttering on my house, so there was some work done on my home. Please note that 3 out of 5 is equal to 60%, which is just shy of a failing grade. I spent $38,500 for the work done on my home. I wanted so badly to have a good experience and be happy with the quality of work. Unfortunately, that was not at all what I received. I made a $5,000 down payment in November 2019. Work was to begin at the end of January 2020. Owner, Lewis Gonzalez, kept putting me off and the work did not actually begin until June 2020. I am a pharmacist and was dealing with the early phase of the COVID pandemic, so I was somewhat distracted during this time. I definitely wish I would have ended the business relationship during the 5 month delay, but hindsight is always 20/20. Lewis had two young men that he called "the Russian guys" working on my project. Much of their work was questionable at best. These gentlemen ripped the dryer ventilation duct apart while removing the exterior vent, covered up rotted wood that I had specifically pointed out to be removed and replaced, screwed siding trim into styrofoam backing, etc. I could go on, but I have pictures of the work that will better detail the situations. Then, during the second week of work, Lewis informed that "the Russian guys" were going on vacation and would not be finishing the work on my home. Lewis and some of his other workers finished the job. I had two garages doors that were to be removed so that an exterior wall could be built to enclose the garage. A double door was also to be installed as part of the wall. Daylight can be seen from inside the garage where there is an open gap. Standing outside the garage, you can see areas of unprotected plywood, used to construct the wall, behind the siding. I recently learned that the plywood is not nailed into the 2x4 framing, so the exterior wall is actually bowed out. Inside the garage, the 2x4 framing does not meet in the corners where it was erected. The guttering has been another catastrophe. Work was "completed" the week after 4th of July weekend in 2020. The following week I saw where the gutter opening dumped water on a junction between the shingles and fascia of another part of the roof. I sent Lewis a video on 7/13/2020 of the situation. He told me multiple times in the intervening months that it would be corrected. It is still not corrected. It is a strange coincidence that the roof failed at this very location and has caused water damage to the ceiling in the interior garage. I could go on and on about the frustrations and disappointments of this past year since the work began, but I think photos and videos would do a much better job of conveying my feelings. I recently signed up for Facebook again so I could get these pictures and videos online. I thought I was finished with social media in 2011 when I closed my Facebook account, but here I am again. "John and team were very professional and did an awesome job. The appearance of home now is stunning. We had over 125 knobs and pulls to install and they stayed until the job was complete. Would highly recommend.

Siding questions, answered by experts

Insulated vinyl siding costs about twice as much as the cheapest form of vinyl siding, but it’s still more affordable than other types of siding, including fiber cement, wood, stone, and brick. You get a lot of bang for your buck with vinyl siding; it’s durable, it’s available in a wide range of styles and colors, and it helps lower your energy bills.

Vinyl siding is the cheapest option in terms of upfront costs. The average cost to install vinyl siding is around $12,173, with certain types like vinyl shake, clapboard, or dutch lap costing as little as $2 to $3 per square foot. While vinyl is very low-cost, it may not last as long as natural materials or metal, with a typical lifespan of 20 to 40 years. In contrast, metal siding is more expensive initially but can save you money in the long run due to its longer lifespan, which is often double that of vinyl. It's recommended to consult a siding professional to determine if the lowest-cost option is the best material for your specific home.

The lifespan of vertical siding depends on the type of material used and whether it’s properly maintained. For instance, vinyl siding can last between 20 and 30 years, while fiber cement siding can last up to 50 years. Remember that the type you choose will depend on how much maintenance it will require to prolong its longevity.

Vines can cause severe damage to your siding. They can grow underneath and all around siding, which can cause it to pop off or split. Vines also trap moisture, which can damage siding by causing rot. The cost to replace siding may make you consider getting rid of the ivy or adding a trellis or lattice support for it to grow on instead.

The lifespan of siding ranges from 20 to over 100 years, depending heavily on the material, climate, quality of installation, and maintenance.

  • Vinyl, Wood, and Aluminum: Typically last 20 to 40 years. Engineered wood may need replacement after just 20 years.

  • Fiber Cement: Lasts around 50 years.

  • Brick and Stone: These are the most durable, lasting for a century or more with proper care.

The longevity of any siding can be shortened if it's not properly maintained or if damage is not repaired promptly. Regular cleaning is vital. It's time for a replacement when you see widespread damage, signs of water intrusion, or a spike in energy costs.
