"Danny was punctual, polite and did an excellent job inspecting and cleaning our fireplace and chimney, as well as putting together gas logs and installing them. He was very, very helpful and I would recommend him to anyone in need of these services. "
"It's a pretty decent system, I think. They send you the pieces and you install them yourself, which is pretty easy. The only real problem I have is that one sensor is too far away from the panel...or there's some interference, and they haven't been able to fix that. It's an interior door, so it's not the end of the world, just a little annoying. Their customer service is pretty good though. Nice, smart customer service people on the other end, very polite and helpful."
"John and team were very professional and did an awesome job. The appearance of home now is stunning. We had over 125 knobs and pulls to install and they stayed until the job was complete. Would highly recommend. "
"Chris my sales person (405.203.7008) went ABOVE & BEYOND TAKING CARE OF ME! Chris & Jerry made me feel like I was someone they've known for years. They were honest, straight-forward, worked with me on paint color choices, helped me pick-out new shingle colors and did everything they could to make sure this was a great experience. They met with my insurance adjuster, provided paperwork my mortgage company needed and had the work done quickly and efficiently. WOW they transformed my house! It is beautiful! The shingles are perfect with my brick and the color choices Chris helped me choose made my house pop on the street. I was worried about how the guttering would be placed on my home because some neighbors gutters are not attractive and standout in a bad way. Chris was very helpful in explaining how they would make sure it looked seamless. I want to highly recommend this company if you are looking for any services: gutters, construction, roofing, anything call them first. YOU CAN DEFINITELY TELL THE HOUSES IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD THAT USED ROCA ROOFING, they all are very beautiful. I know that sounds strange to say, but most of my neighborhood had damage. The houses that used ROCA you recognize right away. They look beautiful! Other roofing companies some of my neighbors used looks blah/plain. I don't know if it is because ROCA has better craftsmanship or they use better quality materials; but I can spot a ROCA roof from the others. GREAT JOB!!! "
"It went great. Roger was very responsive and was present during most of the remodel. We have more work in other areas of the house that we will definitely be using him for."
"We have a 4,000 square foot two story victorian style house in the country that was suffering from neglect. We have attempted to refresh the paint in lower perimeter in the past, however, the upper level was something we could not handle. We called three different companies for estimates and selected API Construction. Raymond Ontiveros with API was the only company that gave us specific details of the work to be completed. Raymond Ontiveros came out to inspect the job and gave us an estimate within 24 hours. API was not the least expensive contractor, however, we felt they were able to complete all the work necessary. We felt confident they would produce a quality paint job and they would be able to complete the necessary repairs. We had a big party planned for October 29th and wanted the house finished before that date.
We signed a contract on Thursday with the work to begin on the following Monday. To our delight Raymond asked if they could get started on Saturday. They worked for at least three days to prep the house (including power wash, oil primer, scraping where needed, sealing, caulking and weatherproofing). The house had several area with water damaged masonite trim above the brick line. Raymond suggested we replace those areas with Hardie Plank siding which would keep the problem from recurring. They completed replacement of the water damaged lap boards; replaced the porch baluster spindles and reinforced loose soffits.
When they removed the lap board siding on the north side of the house under the bay window, they discovered a lot of water and termite damage that extended to a wood panel close to the window. They offered to replace the bad board and offered to seal the area between the brick line and the siding to prevent future damage. Since they have completed the repair, I have noticed they have eliminated the cold air draft from the bay window area.
The carpenter on the job, Carlos, pointed out one area along the south side of the house that needed a drainage problem addressed. The foundation of the house protruded out about five inches from the wall. This was an area where water would accumulate and cause water damage. (We wondered why the breezeway area would have water after a big rain) He suggested the installation of metal flashing that would divert the water away from the house. It works great. During the last rain, we didn't find water in the breezeway.
We really got excited when they started painting. The work went really fast. We could expect to see anywhere from two to ten workers on any given day. The hardest part of the job was all the detail trim. There are forty windows in the house and most have trim. The protected the windows with plastic sheeting and probably used hundreds of yards of masking tape. I don't know how they were able to work in some of the spaces between the house and the hedges. I washed the windows and I can confess some of the areas were really cramped. Raymond and his crew provided an excellent restoration and top quality paint job. Raymond would call every few days to make sure we were happy with the progress.
We are so excited with the finished product! Raymond promised when they finished, the house would look new and he didn't lie. They completed the work before the big party. We had lots of compliments from our guests about how nice our house looks. The house is almost twenty years old, however, it looks brand new!
I would definitely recommend API Construction to anyone looking for excellent workmanship, professional restoration and a quality paint project."

To ensure your wood stove heats the whole house, measure the square footage of your home and choose a wood stove designed to heat that amount of space. More efficient wood stoves, such as those made of soapstone or those with catalytic combustors, can more easily heat larger spaces for less money.
When your wood stove catalyst goes bad, it can cause your stove to produce less heat or run slower than normal. You might also notice thick black smoke coming out of your chimney. If you notice any of these signs, contact a professional who installs wood-burning stoves and repairs them for an inspection and fix.
Neglecting to clean your chimney can lead to serious safety hazards. A primary risk is the buildup of creosote, a highly flammable substance that can ignite and cause a dangerous chimney fire. This buildup can also create blockages in the flue, resulting in poor venting of smoke, soot, and toxic gases like carbon monoxide, which can then enter your home and create dangerously poor indoor air quality. Additionally, creosote is acidic and can damage the chimney's mortar and metal components over time, potentially allowing smoke to leak into your house. To prevent these issues, it is essential to schedule an annual chimney cleaning with a professional.
Most homeowners put a layer of compact sand or gravel at the bottom of their firepit, but you can also choose more decorative options like fire-resistant paving stones, bricks, or fire pit glass. Dirt by itself can even work, but other materials do a better job of spreading the heat around.
Selecting the right size wood stove fan depends on the size of your stove and the room it heats. Larger stoves or rooms may benefit from fans with larger or multiple blades, as these can move more air efficiently. Consider the fan's specifications and airflow capacity to match it with your stove's heat output for optimal performance.
