Small jobs welcome

"I called about five different tree companies and was not able to find someone as professional, knowledgeable, responsive, and reliable, as MV Tree Removal & Hauling Services. Manuel responded very quickly, sent photos of the job that needed to be done and explained everything ahead of time so we knew what to expect. I greatly appreciate what a wonderful job they did. It was frustrating looking for someone to help and not getting a response. Manuel and his team went to the property and took care of everything. They worked quickly, diligently, and very efficient. Not only did they cut the tree and remove what was needed, they picked it up and they didn’t leave a chaotic mess. It was so well done that I wanted the company I work for to pay because of how great they were!!! I would highly recommend MV Tree Removal & Hauling Services. We plan to use him for more jobs in the future. Thank you for all your help, Manuel! We appreciate you!!!"

"The crew did an amazing job removing a problem tree and trimming back another one. They cleaned everything up when they were done as well. I have other trees needing attention so I will definitely be hiring them again in the future."

"Nick took the time to fully understand what I wanted done and explained how I could achieve that while also keeping my tree healthy. His crew was prompt, thorough and very respectful. I will use him again in the future as it is so hard to find people who do what they say they are going to do."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Light-bark trees are most notorious for producing lots of sap when wounded. These varieties include maples, birches, poplars, dogwoods, magnolias, and elms, and they will bleed more when the trees are dormant. That’s why it’s a good idea to prune them in the summer months rather than waiting until winter.

When a palm tree no longer produces new fronds and old fronds start turning yellow-brown, that’s a sign the tree is dying. However, transplanted palm trees can show these signs for the first several months as they re-establish themselves. It’s best to keep watering and not give up on the palm tree until a couple of seasons have passed and you’re sure it’s not coming back to life.

It’s possible, although a lot depends on the cause of damage and what steps you take. If the remaining parts of the maple tree are alive and not under attack by disease or pests, they can often be saved even if large portions of the maple tree have died. Frequent watering, careful pruning, mulch, and any recommended fungicides or insecticides can all help with survival.

Cutting down a dead tree is always strongly advisable. Aside from being an eyesore, a dead tree can be extremely hazardous, especially when it’s near people or structures. Even if the tree isn’t near your home, it can still harbor pests and diseases that can potentially spread to nearby plants and homes.

If it’s your property, then you can plant a tree near power lines, but it’s not the best idea. Any vegetation that grows within 10 feet or so of power lines will fall under the responsibility of the utility company, and they may trim or remove it as necessary. If you do move forward with your plan, try to choose a smaller ornamental tree, plant it as far away from the power lines as you can, and keep it trimmed to avoid future problems.
