"Complete professionals. Had them remove and stump grind 2 large trees. They showed up well equipped and completed the job in a very timely manner. They cleaned up very well and even cleaned up a pile of limbs I had made from trimming other trees. Tanner is an extremely nice guy and I enjoyed working with him. I highly recommend this company"

"The men were polite and attentive to my concerns about damage to the plants below the trees. I would have used them longer if I could have afforded it. The arrangement was for 8 hours of labor; four men came, which meant two hours' work. I understand, however, that it was necessary for safely and efficiency to have more than two on the job. This work was a gift for my daughter."

To him this isnâ t a job this is what he loves to do and heâ s fortunate enough to do it for a living and provide such a great service to whoever hires him."

"They were very courteous and got the job done. Very professional and I love the way my yard looks without that koi pond. They also took a bunch of junk around my house. I would hire them again for my next project."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

If you’re buying a small tree with lots of room to grow, expect to pay around $100 to $200 for a potted version. But if you’re buying a larger tree—say one over 10 feet—prices rise, starting in the $500 to $600 range and increasing quickly from there. Keep in mind that paying for professional palm tree planting or transplanting services will increase the cost.

Unless there’s some sort of rule in your community’s homeowners’ association that requires you to remove a stump, there’s no law that says you have to take it out. If you’re not wedded to the idea of removing it, there are plenty of ways to get creative with this tree remnant. Using the stump as the medium for a wood carving or turning it into a planter are just two examples of ways to repurpose a tree stump.

If you aren’t sure what you’re doing, be very careful when cutting mature tree roots (roots larger than 2 inches). Root cutting and pruning can affect both a tree’s stability and its ability to nourish itself. Issues during root cutting can result in damage or injury.

It’s recommended you call in a pro to help, unless it’s a very small tree and you aren’t worried about the prospect of losing the tree.

The best time to cut down a tree is during its dormant season, typically in winter or early spring, after all the leaves have fallen. Removing a tree during this period is advantageous for several reasons. Frozen ground helps secure the tree stump, protects the surrounding landscape from damage, and reduces the risk of the tree falling in an unintended direction. With the leaves gone, there is less risk of the tree's foliage getting tangled with other trees. Additionally, since this is often a slower season for tree services, you may be able to hire a professional at a lower rate. This dormant period is also the best time for tree trimming.

Planting trees far enough from your foundation will protect your home from root damage, but if you’re dealing with existing trees, you can still guard against roots. Root barriers form a physical boundary that will prevent roots from encroaching on your foundation and can help save you from expensive foundation repair costs.
