"Braxton gave me a quote, which was very reasonable price for the red cedar fence panels post and installation. Braxton also took the time to install the post for the fence and give me time to put a concrete runner under the fence line so we could cut down on weedeating around the fence before he did the actual installation of the fence. He arrived when he said he would start. If there was a scheduled time he was going to work that he was either going to be late or have to postpone he always texted or called ahead of time. when he started the work it went smoothly and the fence was mostly completed in one day, with nothing accept the top panels needed installed, this was important as we had 3 small dogs and needed the fence up do they could go outside. Braxton completed the fence within a day or so. He also came back to install a (special request) bottom 2x6 so that there was only a small gap under the fence so that the puppies could not escape. Braxton was very polite and professional and I highly recommend him for your fence needs. Excellent job."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Retaining walls offer more value to a home if they also divert water, prevent erosion, or help support a foundation. The ROI of a retaining wall is between 100% and 200%.

Both fences and walls can increase your home’s value, but you’ll spend significantly more on a wall than you would on a fence. A stone wall costs approximately $5,000, a retaining wall costs $6,100, and a fence costs $3,200 on average to put prices in perspective.

Of all the fencing options, the cheapest type is a repurposed pallet fence because it’s made of used materials that are easy to find for free. But if you’re not interested in the DIY game, customize a covered chain link fence or a plain wood fence to provide the best privacy possible.

A wobbly fence can be caused by a number of things, though poor installation is the usual culprit. It’s always best to have your fence installed by a professional who can ensure the posts are placed correctly and that the chain links have the correct amount of tension.

Goats need at least 250 square feet of space each, but that’s if you’re also supplementing hay. Since goats are social animals, you’ll want to avoid renting only one goat, which would take a long time to clear your land, anyway. Instead, opt for at least two goats per 500 square feet of land. Most rental companies will only rent out goats by the acre, but check your local goat rental companies to see if they make exceptions.

Who pays for a new fence between neighbors depends on its location relative to the property line. If you build the fence entirely on your property, you are solely responsible for the costs of installation, maintenance, and repair. If the fence is built directly on the property line, both neighbors are typically responsible for the costs. In this case, it is essential to consult with your neighbor beforehand to agree on a plan for payment. While you should always inform your neighbor of your plans in advance, you generally cannot force them to contribute financially unless there are specific local laws, such as in California, where both parties might be responsible for costs unless a different agreement exists. It's a good idea to get a property line survey to know the exact boundaries before building.
