"I am always skeptical about these sites and reviews. But I will tell you this, Nick should be known as a carpet wizard. We had some older carpet in our rental that had pet damage in several areas. He came up with excellent game plan on keeping cost down without replacing all the carpet. He was able to reattach the carpet at all entry points, fixed the areas of pet damage. It is simply amazing. You cannot even tell where the damage had occurred and this was on older carpet. Saved us a ton of money by not having to buy new carpet. If you have any flooring needs I HIGHLY suggest calling Nick. However, Berber isn’t as soft as cut pile carpet, so it isn’t the best carpet for a bedroom (although it’s a good style of carpet for living rooms).

With that said, if you really like the look of Berber, you can still install it in your bedroom—it just might not be as comfortable on your feet as cut pile carpeting.

If you’re using a carpet runner instead of a traditional carpet, pay attention to your width measurements. Instead of measuring the total width of your staircase with 2 added inches for foldover, simply measure the width you’d like the runner to cover. Runners generally come in standard sizes, so you may need to approximate what would look best in your space.

There are a couple of color options to consider when installing carpet in high-traffic areas (like entrances and stairways). Medium-toned colors and patterned carpets can work well in these parts of your home because dirt and stains can blend in easily. Dark carpets will also conceal marks and spills, but they show lint and other light-colored debris. Consider a medium brown or tan for your high-traffic areas. Either way, it’s best to avoid paler shades, like white and cream, which get dirty easily.
