"I am always skeptical about these sites and reviews. But I will tell you this, Nick should be known as a carpet wizard. We had some older carpet in our rental that had pet damage in several areas. He came up with excellent game plan on keeping cost down without replacing all the carpet. He was able to reattach the carpet at all entry points, fixed the areas of pet damage. It is simply amazing. You cannot even tell where the damage had occurred and this was on older carpet. Saved us a ton of money by not having to buy new carpet. If you have any flooring needs I HIGHLY suggest calling Nick. You wont be sorry. Remember a carpet wizard. Thanks Nick!!"

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

There could be several reasons why your carpet padding has adhered to the floor. Some of the most common reasons include:

  • There was intentional gluing or stapling to the surface.

  • The polyurethane and floor bonded over years of wear.

  • Pet urine, spills, or other substances leaked through the carpet and created a sticky surface.

If the carpeting in the home has not been changed in a long time, clearing off the padding underneath could be difficult. Pet urine can wreak havoc on carpeting and the flooring underneath. If you plan to reinstall carpeting, remember to use proper cleaning techniques for removing pet urine odors to prevent future problems.

Carpet installers use furniture sliders or blankets to protect your furniture during the installation process. They handle each piece with care to minimize the risk of damage. Additionally, they may employ techniques such as lifting and shifting furniture rather than dragging it across the floor to prevent scratches or other marks. If you have particularly delicate or heavy items that need to be moved, discuss special handling with the installers beforehand.

If you don’t put padding under your carpet, the carpet won’t be protected from wear on the underside. This could result in a shorter life span for your carpet and increased carpet repair costs over time. An unpadded carpet can also be less comfortable to walk on, depending on your subfloor and the type of carpet.

Costs depend on carpet quality, labor, underlayment, and furniture moving requirements.

What a buyer prefers usually depends on the home’s layout and which material fits the current aesthetic. The local real estate market can also dictate these desires to some extent, as do the buyer’s personal preferences. With that said, laminate can increase the resale value of a home by a tiny bit, whereas carpet does not. Hardwood increases the resale value by the highest amount.
