Customers say: Quality work

"Laban is very easy to work with. I showed him ideas of what I had in mind for my 2 bathroom vanities and he was prompt to draw up and email me plans and quotes. Feel he is very reasonable (cost wise) considering the very quality work he and his help do. Will definitely be using Garber Woodworking again for future projects. In addition my son has determined he will be using Laban when they are ready for their kitchen cabinets."

Offers commercial services

"This job was conceived as a kitchen remodel, but due to the age of the home and previous work by the previous owners, many issues were discovered. The skilled workers with years of experience led to excellent outcomes in all areas. If you are looking for excellent work, cooperative approach, cost containment, and a Christ-honoring team, you’ve found all of it with Be Blessed Remodeling, LLC. The owner, Rob Rubio, and his entire staff are too-notch. I recommend them with no hesitation or reservation. Evaluation: 11 out of 10."

"Did an amazing job repairing our couch and chair. The quality of their repair is better than what we walked out of the store with at the time of purchase. 5 stars. We will be using their services again!!"

"Very happy customer. Lonnie and his team put interior wood molding around two 2nd story windows, one large arched window, and removed mirrored doors from our closet and finished the opening with wood trim. They painted all the molding and trim to match the rest of our woodwork. Their work is extremely well done, and matches the rest of our home perfectly. Removing the mirrored doors in our closet immediately updated that room. Lonnie is extremely responsive, with an emphasis on customer satisfaction I have not experienced before. He promptly provided estimates and kept us informed of the project completion schedule. We are having him complete another project to which we had a significant design change, and Lonnie accepted the change graciously and with no hesitation. All of this and a price that is more than fair. Lonnie even proposed a low cost solution for our arched window, since it was an unusual size, saving us a great deal of money. Two other Carpenters did not offer the solution. A+++ company!"

Woodworking questions, answered by experts

Before hiring a carpenter, the most important thing is to make sure they are properly qualified and insured for the job. It’s more than reasonable to ask your prospective carpenter for customer references, as well as about their licensing and insurance. You should also consider choosing a carpenter that specializes in your specific project area to ensure high-quality results.

There are two ways you can cut trim for doorways: with a miter saw or a table saw. Mitered joints need a 45-degree angle. If you’re unfamiliar with a miter saw, you might want to consider buying extra trim pieces or choosing butted joints instead. One wrong cut, and you’ll need to power up the saw again with a new piece.

Butted joints—also called shaker style—don’t need a 45-degree angle. Instead, your side pieces attach perpendicularly to the header trim and only require a straight cut.

A contract should outline the scope of work, timelines, costs, payment schedule, and materials used for clarity and protection.

You should avoid drilling or cutting into load-bearing beams because removing material will weaken it and increase the risk of structural damage or even collapse. If you do need to drill into a load-bearing beam, speak with a structural engineer first to discuss where it’s safest to drill and the width and depth of the bit that’s safe to use.

Balusters provide vertical support to make sure your stair railing and/or deck is as sturdy and safe as possible. These spindles help hold up the railing so people walking up or down stairs have something strong to hold onto. They can also act as a unique design element if they’re custom-made to suit a specific style or size requirement.
