"Very impressed with their work. Done in a day, in fact they worked until almost 9pm! Polite and respectful to us, and a good price. He came over for an estimate 2 hours after my initial call, and scheduled the work for 3 days after that. I recommend this service for anyone who needs tree work"

"I liked working with A & A Tree Care and Removal. They got here nearly on time, worked through the problem quickly, got the tree down and gone, removed the stump, and left by noon. They were efficient and pleasant. Good men. I recommend highly. Robert C. Doyle"

"The work that A&A did was exceptional. He was very cautious when cutting the tree down, and did everything possible to not hit or damage any of our property with the tree limbs. After the job was completed, they stayed after to help us clean up and load the wood even though we told them we would take care of it. I highly recommend them to anyone wanting tree removal! Exceptional service and friendly!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Trees don’t usually grow back after being cut down. Some particularly robust tree species may start sending up new stems from a stump to recover, but those stems won’t become a “tree” like before. Generally, trees don’t recover from being entirely cut down, which is why it’s important to be careful when making a decision. When you cut down a tree, it’s a good idea to make plans to remove the stump, even if it’s unlikely to grow back.

Make sure the tree roots soak around a day before you dig the tree up for the transplant. Keep the roots wet while the tree is above ground. After the transplant is finished, provide consistent water every day for the first month or so. You don’t want to overwater the tree, but you do want to keep the roots wet so they can thrive in their new environment.

The shepherd’s tree, native to the Kalahari Desert in Africa, holds the record for the deepest known tree roots at over 230 feet deep. Some African communities refer to it as the “Tree of Life” since it provides food, shade, and medicinal properties to the surrounding community.

Though summer is not ideal, you can do some light pruning during this time of year. Just make sure it’s not excessive. Vigorous pruning will stress the tree and impact next year’s growth. Generally, August to September are the best summer-pruning months, particularly for fruit trees.

Some trees, such as silver maples, birches, sycamores, and scotch pines, shed their bark naturally. If your tree is not one that does this, it might have fallen prey to pests, fungi, or diseases. It could also simply be suffering from an extreme weather change, such as a snowstorm or heat wave. If you’re still stumped, consulting with a pro can help you diagnose your tree’s specific problem.
