"I had a bathroom done by WestShore. At first, I thought this was the usual bait and switch type fly by night company. The sales pitch was good and everything seemed reasonable so I figured I would put them to the test and just keep turning them down. When the first set of numbers didn't work for me they explained how it all worked and came up with something that did work. The sales person got back to me the very next day with approval. They then set up a time for the work. It wasn't long before they called me and said they needed me to call back. I thought here comes the hidden costs and bait and switch. BUT NO - They were able to move the date SOONER than I planned. The day of the install the worker showed up ON TIME and completly professional. The work was done quickly and correctly, and when I asked questions (I knew the answer to already) I was answered quickly and honestly. An additional worker came later to help the worker and again, 100% professional. They cleaned up as they went along and did wonderful work. This is the first time I have ever had a job to EXACTLY (even better than they claimed) to spec and done quick and right. I would recommend this company whole heartedly."

"Tech was able to tell me what the error code meant but did not want me to order part until testing with volt meter. Diag appointment with volt meter did not cost extra. Tech gave me part numbers and it fixed the problem."

"★★★★★ Very clean-cut, polite and professional, called 30 minutes before visit, arrived ON TIME, wore SURGICAL BOOTIES to protect my floors. Cleared drain, tested it for flow then wiped up. Runs 100% now. They used their sewer drain camera to check my connection to the city's sewer line. They take VISA. Price was exactly what they estimated. Highest review."

Percolation Tests questions, answered by experts

Asbestos is a carcinogen, meaning it increases the risk of cancer. Inhaling asbestos fibers is linked to several respiratory issues, including asbestosis, or scarring on the lungs, lung cancer, and mesothelioma, another type of cancer. There's also a link between asbestos exposure and an increased risk of colon cancer and other cancers of the digestive system.

Usually, the people most at risk for disease related to asbestos exposure are those who spend a lot of time working around the material without protection. Electricians who work with asbestos wire have a higher risk of developing mesothelioma or lung cancer due to their exposure.

Testing and analysis take 10 days to 2 weeks. Expedited services are available for urgent situations typically requiring higher fees.

Since DIY asbestos removal isn’t the best option to save money, there are other steps that you can take to help cut costs when dealing with this project. After speaking with your asbestos removal expert, discuss if encapsulation is an option. If it is, you can save between 15% to 25% on overall project costs over demolition and disposal. In addition, when speaking with your professional, discuss if there are any tax credits available for your removal project. Finally, check with your homeowner’s insurance to see if any removal costs might be covered. However, be aware that this is usually only applicable if the asbestos is due to a covered incident, like a tree falling into your roof.

Epoxying over asbestos tiles is generally considered a safe option when done correctly. Epoxy acts as a sealant, encapsulating the asbestos tiles and preventing the release of asbestos fibers into the air. The key is ensuring that the asbestos tiles are in good condition, firmly adhered to the substrate, and not damaged or deteriorating. This method is only appropriate for tiles that are undamaged and securely in place. If the asbestos tiles are already loose, damaged, or deteriorating, encapsulating them with epoxy may not be a sufficient solution, as it might not address the potential for ongoing asbestos exposure.

Bathroom tiles can contain asbestos, just the same as patio tiles or kitchen tiles. Remember that asbestos was used primarily for its insulative and fire-resistant properties, both of which are desired in a house. Before we knew asbestos caused cancers and other diseases, it made a lot of sense to include it in many different building materials, including bathroom tiles.
