"Jaime called me and set up a day to come after we talked about what needed to be done. I had plenty of repairs to do after a tenant moved out. He did an excellent job on everything I needed done. He definitely does quality work and I will without a doubt call him again!"

"This is the third time I have John and his team to perform work at my house. I’m in the process of renovating my basement and needed the ceiling sprayed, industrial style. John came over for an estimate while it was raining. I noticed he was walking around my house. Met him outside and he was just making sure his previous work was satisfactory, as always it was. I thought it was pretty cool he was willing to stand in the rain to make sure his previous work was still in good shape. John was able to fit me in immediately and finished the job in one day. His work is on point, his team pays attention to detail and his price is fair. I would recommend Garrity Painting. John cares about his work and clients. Great job John and looking forward in working with you again."

"FANTASTIC!  The project has been in the works for a few months now and WOW!  It looks great. They did an awesome job!
I had seen this style of barn door closure before; thought it was a great idea. However the time involved was never available!
I ordered the doors and applied the vinyl covering. The Spot on Home Improvement guys were on time, very helpful and had good suggestions to the minor issues that arose.
Wonderful company to work with!  I recommend them highly!!

"Work was done quickly and was both excellent and affordable. I was in the process of selling the house and needed to ensure the garage and front gutter were fixed quickly but also well done. Bob and team was responsive and did an excellent job. Would highly recommend this team!"

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

While eco-friendly decking, also called composite decking, is a win for the environment because it consists of recycled materials, it has trade-offs. These sustainable options often come with steeper price tags, lack natural wood's warm look, and can become uncomfortably hot under full sun. Some composite materials can also become slick when wet, posing a potential hazard.

In general, you need a footing at each corner of your deck, and within 8 feet of each other. So, how many you need depends on the size and shape of your deck, plus any local building codes. It also depends on factors like the load capacity of your soil and the weight of your deck. You can find a footing calculator online or contact a pro for support.

Yes, you can build a pool deck yourself, but it takes precision, a lot of time, and many specific tools. You’ll need to create a deck plan, be careful with measurements, cut each piece of wood, secure the pieces properly, and ensure the deck meets building codes. Building a deck around a pool is a rewarding DIY, but it’s time- and labor-intensive, so thoughtfully consider your abilities and the time you have before embarking on this DIY.

Choosing whether your deck should be lighter or darker than your house is a matter of personal preference, as there is no right or wrong answer. However, considering the pros and cons of each can help guide your decision. Darker colors are often chosen because they show less dirt, footprints, and marks from daily wear, making them easier to keep clean. On the other hand, lighter deck colors tend to stay cooler in the summer. From a design perspective, using a deck color that contrasts with your home's exterior can help make the deck a more defined and distinct feature. Consulting color theory can also make the process of choosing a complementary house and deck color combination easier.

You do not have to dig footers for a deck as long as it meets local code and holds up to weather in your area. If you live somewhere that experiences high winds and earthquakes, you may need to dig for your deck posts. Deck blocks, post anchors with base plates, and helical pile systems are the three no-dig deck post options you can choose from if local code permits.
