"Job included minor drywall repair in kitchen soffit and to a lace ceiling, and painting of repairs (and two extra rooms and trim), and our entryway wall and trim as well as the stairway walls and trim (to the top of the stairs). The drywall repairs were seamlessly done, and the painting of the repairs and spraying of lace ceiling very good. We know that lace ceiling repairs are hard to match, but these are nearly flawless match. The painting of the other rooms (dining and parlor), were completed with the same professionalism, quality, and care for my property as the repairs in the kitchen. Mario was quick to respond to questions and very responsive with changes made at the last minute. The job took 3 days. I highly recommend Reyes Painting to everyone reading this review. I am very critical of work I pay for, and Reyes delivered."

You can use either paint thinner or mineral spirits to clean paint brushes, but both have distinct advantages. Therefore, painting a one- or two-car garage door typically requires one gallon of paint, which should give you enough for the two to three coats experts recommend for this job. However, if you're painting a lighter color over a darker color, you might need more. Using primer can decrease the total number of coats of paint you need.

A professional painter will typically prep the walls to ensure a longer-lasting, smoother paint job. Prepping the walls can involve scraping off debris or flaked paint, filling in grooves or nail holes, sanding, cleaning, applying a coat of primer, taping the trim, and removing outlet covers. You should ask your painter before hiring about their process to make sure it’s in line with your expectations and needs.

For information on how long it will take for paint to dry on a metal roof, refer to the manufacturer’s instructions. Typically it will take a few hours to dry but may need to be left for up to 24 hours to cure fully—but up to 10 days is better yet.
