"Chris was amazing! Him and an associate worked hard all day to put together our DIY gazebo. His prices were very reasonable. Would hire him again in a heartbeat!"

Customers say: Quality work

"Outstanding service and quality. Retaining wall is beautiful and we received value added when they planted the landscaping! Also added job of digging up the turf under recently installed fence and placing landscape fabric and stones. Looks very nice and will save us time trimming. Also appreciated John's suggestions for plant placement and brick/ stone selection. Very helpful. We would definitely hire Concepts Green for future jobs."

"If you are looking for good quality work and a fair price, definitely use these guys. I did some research and these guys use only good quality asphalt mix and a paving system that most of the others cheap out and don’t use. The owner has 40 years experience and still works with the crew to ensue the job is done right! They even surprised me and did a little extra custom work without extra cost because owner thought it looked better. Who does that in this day and age? Recommended to my other family members. Definitely would use again!"

"I had other Paving companies to come and give me an estimate. The estimated price for the area I wanted paved was ridiculously way too much. I got Hard Rock from Angie's list. Anthony called me, came and gave me the BEST estimate and I hired them right away. They came ahead of time (Happy) and the A- team got the job done. They were very efficient and clean. I thank all the workers especially the owner who was there supervising and Holland. He is a hard and efficient worker. I referred Hard Rock to other people. Thank you!"

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

A 500-square-foot driveway can cost anywhere from $5,000 to $35,000, depending on the type of pavers you choose. Grass and concrete pavers are more affordable, while stone and cobblestone pavers are on the higher end of that price range. You’ll save some money by DIYing the installation, though we highly recommend sticking with a professional for this type of driveway installation.

Paving is a part of hardscaping, so all paving is hardscaping, but not all hardscaping is paving. Paving involves laying down concrete or asphalt, while hardscaping can also include the use of paving stones, bricks, gravel, wood, and more. Hardscape features that involve paving are considered permanent and will increase your property taxes, while some other hardscaping features—like those involving bricks, gravel, and paving stones—will not affect property taxes. Paving also typically requires a permit, while hardscaping features considered temporary will not.

If pavers are uneven but not sunken, lift the affected bricks and check the bedding sand underneath. In many cases, simply smoothing out or adjusting the sand is enough to level them. Add or remove small amounts as needed, then press the pavers back into place and tap them with a mallet until they sit evenly with the surrounding surface.

Yes, pea gravel is good for driveways as long as your driveway isn’t built on a hill or any type of slope where it can slide. It’ll settle on a flat surface and create a suitable driveway over time, though some spreading initially will take place. If you're wondering how to make a gravel driveway in a high-rainfall area, using pea gravel could help you to cut down on costs needed for extra drainage solutions.

You’ll first need to install a base underneath your pavers for extra stability and drainage. Otherwise, the pavers can sink into the ground, and you’ll have to reinstall them. Use a base gravel layer of 4 to 6 inches for walkways and 10 to 12 inches for driveways. Compact your gravel layer every 2 to 4 inches so it’s nice and solid. After you install your gravel base, apply a 1-inch layer of sand on top.
