Hi my name is Robert Blunk. I have been a carpenter for 20 years. I served a four year apprenticeship and completed trade school through Tri-C. During my time as a carpenter I have been involved in all aspects of construction, but I have always gravitated towards, and excelled in finish work. I believe in craftsmanship and architectual order. I love my work and take enormous pride in every project I do. It would be a privilege to add something to your home that you will take pride in too.

"DO NOT USE THIS GUY! Very SHADY Business practices. He charged double the original estimate on labor taking a 20k job to 30k and then did not finish and ghosted us! (10k materials. Double the labor is not ok...) He even had entire days he chose not to charge us because he kept making mistakes (of his own accord). Not to mention he can't tell white oak from red (even tho oak is in his name) and replaced a bunch of our flooring with the wrong type of wood. He also did not finish the kitchen windows... said he'd be back in a few days.. then strung us out for months til we finally had someone else call to get through to him and he told us he wasn't coming back... ....he said he "didn't make money on this job" even though he was charging us HOURLY!!!! like....idk what to even say except this was very wrong."

"Poor communication. Bailed on me halfway through a project. My kitchen doesn’t have drywall due to him bailing. My dishwasher isn’t secured. I have backup in my disposal. Refused to listen to any of my asks and did things poorly. Very unhappy. Was supposed to do a full kitchen and bathroom remodel."

"Perfection - a master painter, carpenter, an electrician, among other skills. “He has an eye for perfection and understands there’s only one way to do things – the right way," He lovingly repaired the old garage with the exact same kind of wood that had been used in the original construction from 1960. The scope of work - Bathroom - a new bathtub, sink, and mirror. Painting - Outside and inside of the house and garage. Flooring - Installed new floating flooring. Plumbing - kitchen, laundry room, and outside faucets. Electrical - new outlets for outside plugs. This project was the first adventure of my giveback project - I am buying homes and rehabbing them to rent to a VET with a section 8. This was my first experience at rehabbing a house and being a 74-year-old woman - you can imagine what could have happened. With Robinson Renovation I was able to achieve perfection and create a HOME for a VET that is safe and up to date. Bottom line - SUCCESS."

"Horrible. He was friendly, seemed ambitious. I met him 2 weeks before thanksgiving. I wanted the work done by christmas. he said he be there the week before thanksgiving, planned to have work done in 3 days tops. started making excuses why he wasn't able to make it. i said after thanksgiving would be fine. he called and ask for the payment up front. like a dummy i gave it to him in check form. his wife cashed the check. we were getting close to christmas when he finally made it over on a sunday and only did the bedroom and the one piece in the kitchen. he said he'd finish later that week, which never happened. i finally had to tell him i was going to the police unless he returned my money, my home depot card. he wanted to give me a postdated check. i said no, either cash or i go to the police. he finally brought cash over and card. since then, i have realized he removed spacers from the kitchen floor and put the trim in rather than making the spacers flush with the floor. i now have to hire someone to fix this problem as the pieces of flooring are coming apart due to no spacers there."

Wood, cedar, pressure-treated pine, and redwood are commonly used. They offer durability and natural beauty suitable for outdoor structures.

In many cases, yes, you’ll need building permits for a carport. The exact laws and regulations depend on where you live, but generally speaking, you’ll need a building permit for any carport that will be permanently affixed to the ground. Premade carports sometimes don’t require planning permission or permits, but standalone and attached carports usually do. We recommend you contact your local building department to find out before beginning any carport project.

Yes, in all cases, it should be more affordable to build your own carport than it would be to hire a professional to do the work. The material costs can sometimes cost a little more through a professional because they can mark it up for delivery and procurement costs. You’ll also save hundreds or thousands on labor fees if you install your carport yourself.

Hiring a woodworker can be expensive, depending on the job, but it’s very often well worth the investment. Woodworkers are able to provide custom pieces of furniture and handmade construction to present a finished product that is exactly to your specifications. If you have a specific vision for a one-of-a-kind piece of furniture or home feature, the cost of hiring a professional woodworker is worthwhile. Plus, you’ll often get a higher quality product than what you could buy in stores for a fraction of the price.

Pole barns and carports are similar in that they rely on posts for support and are often not connected to a primary structure. The main difference between the two is that pole barns usually include walls that surround the entire perimeter of the structure, while carports generally remain open on three or four sides. It’s possible to insulate garage doors and even exterior walls on pole barns to create a comfortable workspace, and it’s a bit more secure for storage purposes. However, carports are more affordable.
