"It went pretty smoothly. One of the best contractors I have had from Choice Home Warranty. Century Restoration Maintenance, LLC and owner PeAyre Gardner were awesome. I have had CHW several years and I wanted to cancel because every thing we called about they denied the claim. My husband decided to keep them. I was pleasantly surprised that they fixed both the leak and drywall in the ceiling from the leak. I did have to provide extra pics from the leak before it was approved as initially the claim was denied."

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."

If you’re working in a highly visible area and want the best possible finish, hiring a professional drywaller is worth the cost. It’s highly recommended to use studs for a TV mount. The last thing you want is to be watching your favorite show when the TV falls off the wall. Studs are much stronger than drywall and quite a bit stronger than drywall anchors but, if you can’t find the studs or there simply aren’t any where you need them, you can use drywall anchors. It’s extremely important to make sure the anchors are rated for the load of the TV. We recommend using anchors that are rated far beyond the weight of whatever you’re hanging. Our suggestion is metal drywall toggle anchors. 

There shouldn’t be any gaps between your walls and ceiling. These can be fixed with joint compound but that is only a fix, and it’s much better if your drywall fits correctly in the first place. Sometimes gaps can appear if your foundation shifts significantly but if this is the case, you have a much bigger problem than patching drywall.

Choose a drill bit that is the size of the screws of the anchors you will use. You aren’t drilling through metal or concrete—hopefully—so any standard twist, wooden or all-purpose drill bit will work fine. It’s also important to have a screwdriver capable of drilling through the drywall and into the stud. The good news is most available drills, even the older ones, can do this with no issue.

In some cases, the plaster and other building materials shift and come apart over time, which is why you’ll commonly find drooping plaster ceilings in older homes.
