"Chris was extremely professional and very skilled at his trade. He completed the work within 2 days of our first contact and kept excellent communication about costs, time of arrival for first consultation and date of service. The projects were challenging and he did incredible carpentry. He was very good at keeping the area clean and respectful of my home. We have already discussed additional work that he will do on the house. I am excited to work with him again and recommend him without reservation. He is a breath of fresh air for someone to really work with a homeowner!"

"This is a company that is reliable, competent and very honest. Prices were excellent and the communication between us and the contractor for the very extensive renovation along with the roof, gutters railing, etc. isabove and beyond. I've recommended them to a number of friends who were also satisfied!"

"I couldn’t be happier with the beautiful composite deck completed by Elite Edge Builders. From start to finish, the process was efficient, professional, and stress free. Out of all the quotes I received, theirs offered the best value without sacrificing quality. Chase was a true blessing to work with knowledgeable, great communication , and incredibly respectful of my questions and concerns. Choosing someone I could truly trust was essential. Chase and his team not only met but exceeded that standard. As I continue to make improvements to my home, I will absolutely be placing future projects in their trusted hands. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for honest, high quality craftsmanship with your personal touch."

"I couldn’t ask for a better contractor to trust with my projects than Phil and the WeBuild Construction crew. I went to Phil with a vision of what we wanted, he provided excellent input and help us build our project and turned in into reality. Exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. Creativity and willingness to customize and make our building exactly what we wanted. It went from a basic bare bones pole building to a custom built rough cut lumber lean-to/sitting area add on and an awesome loft that wouldnt have been possible without him helping us build our vision into something special. Aside from our pole barn build, he has done outstanding work adding sliding barn doors and repairing our 100 yr old barn with slate roof. Not much the WeBuild crew couldnt do. Cant recommend them enough!"

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

The cost to install a bow window can range from $1,500 to $15,000, with a national average of $3,900. The total price includes materials, which can cost between $1,200 and over $14,000, and labor, which typically adds $300 to $1,900. Several factors influence the final cost, including the window's size and frame material. For example, vinyl frames are the most budget-friendly option, while wood frames are more expensive. Custom features or energy-efficient upgrades will also increase the price. For comparison, a bay window installation typically costs between $1,000 and $7,000.

You can choose 5/8-inch plywood or 3/4-inch plywood—anything thinner than these sizes may not withstand the impact of debris propelled by strong winds or can be easily torn off by intruders. Remember that the durability of the wood board is crucial, particularly for safeguarding your windows during severe storms. The effectiveness of using wood boards for protecting the investment you made in your home relies on using the appropriate material and ensuring proper installation.

Your local building code will list all the framing requirements for whatever type of structure you're building. Most exterior walls require spacing of 16 inches on-center, while many non-load-bearing interior walls only require 24 inches of spacing. However, there are also varying requirements depending on your construction material, so checking your municipality's rules is essential.

It's possible to turn your carport into a living space, but there are additional factors to address over turning it into a garage. HVAC, plumbing, and electricity won't be optional, and you'll need finished flooring, drywall, trim work, and legal ceiling height, for starters. Also, keep in mind that living space conversions may require upgrading the foundation underneath, and the permits might be more expensive as well.

Using a steel frame may raise the value of your home. Steel is more heat resistant, has better longevity, and doesn’t need any upkeep compared to traditional wood. You can also customize a steel build a little easier than other materials like brick, concrete, and vinyl—which have trouble bending and adapting to renovations.
