"Nathan and Joe were very helpful in starting the process by answering all of my questions. I had chosen a tile for the floor, and also tile, accents, corner shelving and niche that was made by them for the shower. I think I did a pretty good job choosing the tile but they did an even better job installing it. I love it, my bathroom looks beautiful and modern now!! They did excellent, clean, precise work. Always use a backer board treated with a waterproof membrane for bathrooms and other chronically damp areas to ensure complete tile shower waterproofing.

Options include clay, concrete, and slate tiles. Each offers unique durability, aesthetics, and costs.

Uniform spacing between tiles is important for a professional and clean appearance. To achieve this spacing, tile spacers should be placed between the tiles and left in place until the mortar hardens and the tiles are secure. You can use X-shaped spacers vertically in between the tiles and laid flat at the corners.

The underlayment determines a ceramic tile’s sturdiness, and a cement board or backer board works best. Be sure to tape the joints when using these materials, and consider laying it on top of a layer of thin-set for more stability.

You can technically install tile over tile, but we don’t suggest it. Installing tile over any surface that isn’t a completely flat and prepared subfloor will result in a shoddy overall job, uneven flooring, tiles that don’t adhere, extra weight, gaps, cracks, and room for moisture and dirt to enter. For the best results, only install new tile on a flat, sanded surface like subflooring or concrete that is prepared for tile.
