"They did the work as promised, on time, and cleaned up after they were done. Our chimney grout was cracked, some brick faces had come loose, & the crown/cap was broken in several places. They stucco'd the entire chimney, & also installed a completely new crown/cap. It looks great."

"Thompson was fantastic. They responded quickly to our request, fit us into their schedule within 3 days and showed up right on time. Upon an inspection of our fireplace they found a piece of insulation shoved up into the flue. If they hadn’t found it and we had started the fireplace we would’ve had a major fire. They also inspected the chimney and said there was so little work to be done that they were going to reduce the price that we were originally quoted. Certainly didn’t inspect that expect that! Thanks Thompson, you’re now on our list of favorite providers."

Chimney Liner Installation questions, answered by experts

How long a pool liner lasts depends on the type of pool. Most in-ground pool liners last between six and 12 years, while aboveground pool liners last anywhere from six to 10 years. You can extend the life of your pool liner by maintaining proper pool chemistry, adding chemicals individually to avoid staining the liner, using a pool cover to protect it from the sun, and keeping sharp objects away from it.

It’s a good idea to call in a pro to fill in your pool, because there are many potential hazards to doing it yourself. Unless you’re careful, you can damage your septic tank, plumbing pipes, and sprinkler lines. It’s also possible to damage your sewer connections, utility lines, driveway, landscaping, and sidewalk.

If you’re wondering how to find a leak in an aboveground pool, the process is the same as it is for an in-ground pool. Note that the vinyl liner in aboveground pools is fairly thin, so sharp objects easily puncture it. Additionally, the liner can wear down after constant exposure to pool chemicals, especially when chlorine levels are higher than they should be. For these reasons, small holes in the vinyl liner often cause leaks, but you can easily detect them with the dye test.

Costs depend on pool size, equipment, and any additional tasks like repairs or deep cleaning.

Swimming pool liners are typically made out of vinyl, or you can commonly find PVC pool liners. These two liner materials are low-maintenance, making them easy to care for. Vinyl pool liners are common for residential swimming pools, while PVC liners are popular for commercial swimming pools. Both options are highly customizable to fit various sizes and shapes of pools.
