"Very, very happy with this pro. They were prompt and completed the job in minimum time. What they said they would do, they did, and they always kept me updated. A real joy to have met these young men and I would hire them again without question."

"Great job. We needed a huge pile of dirt moved and Tom did that and it was perfect. We also needed some concrete poured and Tom cleared the area for the path. Great job, great price. Easy to work with, he wants to do a good job for you"

"We met Scott with Union III at the Columbus home and garden show and we were able to talk with him and ask him questions. We had a few companies come out to give us quotes for what our thoughts were for a back patio. Scott did a wonderful job of drawing up what our ideas were and what the best placement would be for things and we also talked about having a flower bed with different greenery around the whole area. We were able to go to their office and actually check out the different pavers and colors and also change any designs before signing on with them. For everything that we got with our patio and greenery it was still a lower price than some of the other companies that we had out. When they came out, they finished everything within a week and that week happen to be the hottest week of the summer and they did a fantastic job. Scott and the workers at Union III were great to work with and I would recommend them to anybody who is looking to get a patio. We live in a new constructed neighborhood and towards the end of summer we had a neighborhood party and talking and meeting the new neighbors when they found out which house we were all of them said “oh you’re the house that has the beautiful patio, and we just admire it every time we walk by.”"

Three inches is a great thickness for a residential asphalt driveway that sees minimal to moderate traffic from cars, SUVs, and pickup trucks. However, a thicker driveway can better withstand the weight of a heavier vehicle, such as a trailer or a recreational vehicle. If you drive a heavy vehicle on a thin driveway, you risk cracking and damaging it.

The most obvious disadvantage of permeable paving is that the cost is typically higher compared to non-permeable concrete, pavers, or asphalt methods. Also, the porous material can get clogged with dirt and debris, requiring cleaning and power washing more frequently than standard paving materials and methods. Although permeable paving is not ideal for highways, airports, and other surfaces supporting heavy traffic and machinery, it is suitable for regular residential driveways.

Grass pavers are suitable for heavy foot or vehicle traffic, but they’re not as resistant as concrete or asphalt pavers.

The best ways to increase the lifespan of your driveway are to carry out proper maintenance and get repairs done quickly. First, reseal your driveway every one to three years to protect it from the elements. If you start to notice significant cracks, hire a professional to diagnose the problem before it gets more serious. You can also use sand instead of salt when de-icing your driveway (since salt is corrosive) and clean your driveway annually using a pressure washer to keep it in tip-top shape.

Asphalt and tarmac are not the same thing. Traditional tarmac, short for tarmacadam, uses tar as a binder to hold crushed stone together. Asphalt uses bitumen—a byproduct of crude oil—to bind aggregate. Though tarmac was once a go-to for roads, asphalt has become the modern standard. And these days, most surfaces referred to as “tarmac” are actually asphalt. So, while the names may overlap, the key distinction lies in the binder—tar for tarmac and bitumen for asphalt.
