"Lance and his company was most professional and courteous before we even committed to an install. Once we scheduled an install, it was well executed and looked and worked great. Training was done by a superb trainer that our dog took to immediately. You can tell they care about their profession as well as the animal. A year later, damage was done by a third party. Lance himself showed up promptly on a holiday weekend to fix the fence and save our weekend. I can't recommend Lance's Hidden Fencing enough. A+ job."

"Akron canton commercial and residential fencing was an outstanding company to work with. They did a great job removing and replacing my old fencing and dealing with my very unevenly grading of the yard. The team was always on time, very respectful and always committed with me on what they were doing. They were always polite and willing to answer my questions as well as the neighbors who would Stop and ask questions. They worked very quickly and always cleaned up each day at the end of the dayâ s work. They were very upfront about what the cost would be and they used top notch products. This fence will last a very long time. Definitely recommend them to all friends, family and neighbors who are looking for new or replacement fencing."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

There are several privacy fence ideas, including DIY temporary fence ideas. You can try using pallets, which is a great way to add privacy and recycle materials. You can use a traditional square or lattice trellis as a temporary privacy fence, which provides seclusion and allows you to add flowers and climbing vines for a living design element.

Regular cleaning, rust-proof coatings, and checking fasteners help prolong the lifespan.

The cost to build a fence is about $3,100 on average, but you could pay anywhere from $400 to $13,700 or more. Your cost will depend on the length, height, and materials for the fence. If you hire a professional installer, labor costs typically represent about half of the total cost of the project. This means you potentially can save quite a bit of money doing the work yourself.

Since wood is weaker when installed horizontally versus vertically, a horizontal fence is prone to sagging. You can prevent this drooping from happening by building a sturdier fence. Use softwoods that are more stable, such as cedar and redwood, or denser hardwoods for your fence materials. If you can’t afford these pricey materials, use thicker two-by-six pressure-treated pine boards or shorten the span the fence boards have to cover by installing more posts.

There are different types of pet fencing available to keep your furry family member safe:

  • Chain link fencing is an affordable but not visually appealing option.

  • Vinyl panel fencing is less easily damaged than wood.

  • Wood fencing is customizable but requires regular maintenance.

  • Metal iron fencing provides a sleek look but doesn’t block your pet’s view.

  • Electric fencing eliminates the need for a traditional fence, but it could be painful to your pet.

  • Picket fencing adds to your curb appeal but won’t contain most pets.

  • Brick or stone fencing stops pets from digging out of the yard but costs more.
