"Double N Construction, is a very professional team. Aaron came to our home spoke with us about what our needs were for an addition to our house. Once we signed the contract, Double N Construction hard working team began. They had built a ruffed in house with roof within 2 weeks. They are an amazing, hard working team. "Great! We used Marcus to fix a leaking roof vent maybe 7 years ago and since then he’s built a detached garage for our home, two large decks for rentals, and metal roofing for my shop. He is the most honest and trustworthy person in the business. If it’s something he doesn’t do he is also super helpful in referring you to someone he knows. He has turned into my go to guy for all construction needs. He always calls you back also!"

"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."

Siding questions, answered by experts

Choosing siding combinations that look good together comes down to finding textures and colors that complement each other. You want some contrast so that your home doesn’t look boring or too uniform, but you also want the materials to play off of each other so that each makes the other stand out. It’s a good idea to hire a siding professional to create 3D renderings for you so you can get a sense of what your home will look and feel like before you get started.

Wood siding requires an air gap behind it to allow water to drain out, and for air circulation and venting to allow humid air to escape and keep the material from rotting due to moisture.

You can put new siding over clapboards, but it’s not recommended. Some sidings, like vinyl siding, can go over clapboards with sheathing like a foam layer in between. However, it’s best to remove clapboard siding if you plan on replacing it with new siding. Burying wood clapboards underneath new siding can create risks of rot and mold, or hidden insect damage. It can also create warping issues over time. Removing clapboards allows you to properly install a new sheathing, as well as clean up the exterior wall and look for any signs of damage.

Both vinyl and metal are very popular siding options, and it’s important to weigh the pros and cons of each before making a decision for your home. Vinyl has a lower price point than metal and is easier to install, but metal siding is more durable, longer-lasting, and requires much less maintenance. The upfront costs could save you money in the long run.

Yes, it is common for mold to grow on the underside of the siding due to the moist atmosphere. When there is an abundance of moisture, mold has the ideal environment to spread and thrive. This fungus can be found on virtually any surface, both indoors and outdoors. Generally, it is most active when the environment is warm, damp, and humid.
