"Carson of Szoke Lawn & Landscape came to my property and have me a quote for cleaning up a previous flower bed and replacing the current boarder. Carson's quote was reasonable. Carson and his employee did an exceptional job. The landscaping looks so much better. Carson did a great job of communicating with me. I would strongly recommend him for your landscaping needs."

"Initiall call returned in one day  and service was completed as promised.  crew of carpenters was excellent and fun to have working... certainly saved us  from a lot of labor that we were not quite willing to do ourselves.

UPDATE-6/6/15:

We used this company in the past for a roofing job that has since gone wrong, without appropriate follow-up or resolution from Bazell Maintenance & Remodeling. The door portion of the job in this review was originally very good, but as of now, you can hardly get the door open without yanking the knob off. I have yet to receive any resolution on this issue, either."

"I had The Settles company due to roofing jobs for me. The first one was residential complete roof replacement and also added skylights that was 15 years ago and it still looks great. The second job was on my A-frame cabin that sits on a hill we could not find anybody that wanted to tackle that project it was a complete tear off repair and replace a very. Difficult project. Between him and his son who works for him They completed the whole project and it was a very difficult project to do because the cabin sits on the steep hill and it s an A-frame roof. I highly recommend"

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

When deciding if you should use 2x6 or 2x8 deck joists, consider the size of the deck, joist spacing, and materials. Larger decks, larger-spaced joists, and weaker wood all require more support, meaning they need larger joists. For example, 2x8 redwood joists spaced 16 inches apart can only safely span up to 10 feet and 7 inches. On the other hand, 2x10 southern pine joists spaced 12 inches apart can be as big as 16 feet and 2 inches. If you aren’t sure what size joist is best for your project, speak with your deck builder.

No, you don’t need a permit to repair and replace a few boards on an existing deck. However, if you’re making structural changes to the deck or tearing down the old one and building a new one, you will likely need a permit. Check with your local municipality for the regulations and rules in your area, or ask a local contractor who builds decks for advice.

The cost to repair a deck is between $900 and $3,500, depending on the cause and extent of the damage. For example, fixing a sinking deck caused by pest damage can cost between $200 and $600, while replacing sinking boards costs between $500 and $4,000.

Building a deck isn't too hard if you’re handy with carpentry, have the necessary tools, and are willing to put effort into it. However, other factors, such as plans, permits, and design, can be hard if you don’t have experience in those areas.

Note: You’ll need another person to help you build the deck (especially for framing and setting the beams). Building a deck yourself will be very difficult if you don’t have an extra set of hands to help.

There are several perks to building a deck around your inground or above-ground pool. Specifically, building a deck around a pool gives you space to lounge and sunbathe, easy access to monitor kids in the pool, extra room for entertaining and dining, an anti-slip surface for post-pool fun, and enhanced aesthetics.
