"They were very polite, kept us informed every step of the way, did everything just the way they said they would. This was a garage job and it looks beautiful now - the cabinets are gorgeous and everything is neat and has it's own place. I was even able to bring some things out of our upstairs storage and store it in the cabinets."

I've been honing my craft in the trades since I was old enough to swing a hammer... I always do my best to think outside of the box to problem solve issues and I like to think I'm pretty good at it too.\nI could do just about anything you would need a handyman to do... I've been framing houses and building stages for concerts since about 2015... For that reason my skills are a little too well rounded to specifically list off each and every one.

"Eddy was amazing! I am so pleased that he responded to do some major upgrades to the interior of the home with a major installation of crown molding. This was intricate work because the walls & ceilings were of differing textures. Eddy made certain that all of the corners, ends, etc… fitted together perfectly. In addition, Eddy also installed an outside faux stone facade on the exterior of my porch. He also paid extra attention to detail to ensure that everything he did was neat, done correctly, clean & organized. Eddy was on time; kept in great communication and stayed right on budget. I would definitely hire him again & also would recommend him to anyone! Eddy is extremely intelligent, capable & talented"

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

While it is possible to build a wooden carport yourself, especially if you are skilled in carpentry, professional construction is recommended. Professionals ensure structural integrity, proper anchoring, correct alignment, and the use of quality materials for a stable and durable result.

An A-frame home can be cheaper to build than a traditional house, but that is not always a given. Prices can be fairly similar in some cases, depending on the location, design, and necessary site preparation. Costs for an A-frame typically run between $100 to $200 per square foot, which is comparable to the cost of a traditional home. The cost of an A-frame can come in under those numbers if you opt for a prefabricated kit.

There are a few easy ways to locate a wall stud without a stud finder. First, try knocking on the wall with your knuckles. Most parts of the wall will sound hollow, but when you tap over a stud, it will sound more solid. Alternatively, since studs are spaced 16 or 24 inches apart, you can measure those distances from a corner of the room, which will always have a stud.

Yes, a 2x6 should hold a porch swing and safely support the load. A smaller joist runs the risk of it not offering enough support for the swing. If you have a joist smaller than 2x6, add additional bolstering support.

Stick frames, metal frames, or prefabricated concrete frames are included in framing a house, along with creating the framework and space for windows, doors, and entryways. Other aspects of developing a home—like drywall, insulation, windows, doors, and more—are not included in the cost to frame a house.
