"My opinion: do not hire him. Alec walked off the unfinished job for "hostile situation". He causes his own hostile situations: with baby-yet to be born-mom, his own parent's-where he lives with mommy- so he'll go to grandma'- & dealing with other contractors). He walked off my job site. I paid over $22,900.00 (checks, services and materials) for a job that still requires his drywalling. He even left with material that I paid for. He complains that all his bank accounts are in the negative. Not my fault. He says it costs him $200 daily just for gas and food-$100 for @. He only lives 15 miles from job site. He's complained to me about all his home life hostile situations-twice where he was placed in hospital for mental eval-one with a firearm. I'm not his therapist. He placed his fist where it didn't belong that caused his hurt hand that prevented him for working for many weeks. He thinks he can place lien on property for services he hasn't earned He said he was upcharging all estimates"

"Extremely well. Jenson is a craftsman. He was able to repair parts of our old hardwood floor and refinish them beautifully. And his rates were very fair."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

The amount of drywall you need for a 1,000-square-foot basement depends on the ceiling height, angles, number of doors and windows, and more. To find the wall square footage, multiply the width and height of each wall, minus any gaps from windows or doors, and add the totals together. You’ll also need enough drywood nails or screws to install the drywall correctly.

Drywall is safe to cut as long as you follow proper procedures, such as wearing personal protective equipment and using the right tools to score and cut the drywall. When cutting new drywall, it can release dust with silica and other compounds that could pose health risks. Leave cutting drywall to the pros, or wear a high-quality respiratory mask, goggles, and other PPE when handling drywall.

Here’s another instance of where the answer is you could, but that doesn’t mean you should. Yes, part of the issue is getting the drywall to stay in place on the tiles, and it’s understandable that screws will crack the tiles and cause them to crumble. That’s why it’s a much better idea to screw drywall into studs, not your porcelain or ceramic tile. But aside from issues with attaching the drywall, it’s also about ensuring a smooth application without trapping moisture inside.

It is less expensive to install a drywall ceiling. Drop ceilings are generally more costly to install than drywall, but they're also easier to install. Drywall sheets are heavier than drop ceilings—weighing in at about 60 pounds each—so if you hire a pro, they may charge a little more for labor. You should also factor in paint costs for a drywall ceiling. The least expensive drywall ceiling option is the standard, smooth variety.

In framing, studs are placed at 16-inch intervals to coincide with the typical spacing of wall materials such as drywall or plywood. This spacing is called "on-center" and is necessary for maintaining structural stability and efficient use of materials. The 16-inch spacing also helps to distribute the weight evenly across the building's structure. For those looking to cut material costs and improve energy efficiency, 24-inch stud spacing can be employed through a method called "advanced framing". This requires careful planning and adherence to local building codes to ensure structural integrity.
