"IMPRESSIVE!!! I contacted Mr. Mantz on 3/30/18 and the project was wrapped up today. Given the prolonged winter weather and this being the start of their busy season, I was quite impressed how quickly the job was done. Once the rain broke long enough for us to meet for an estimate, Bruce suggested a combination of shade loving perennial plants for my side yard and even found a variation of Sweet Gum tree that did not produce the annoying gumballs. The project was wrapped up in a couple hours and he even threw in a few extra plants to balance out the garden since I wasn't sure what outline I wanted. His crew is young, very polite, hard-working, and cleaned up thoroughly. Bruce has a great attitude, is customer satisfaction driven, and it was a pleasure to work with him. I can't wait for all my new beauties to bloom!"

"This project, part of an effort to get our house ready to list for sale, went extremely well. I asked Jamie to pressure wash the entire house and garage, along with the roof and walkways. Our house looks beautiful and the pressure wash got rid of almost 100% of the discoloration and mold that comes with age. Jamie is a really great guy and is a true professional. He worked until he was satisfied with the quality of his own work. He holds himself to a high standard and it shows in the final product. I also asked him to clean the mold and stains off the roof, which it looks like new now. Take a look at the before and after pictures. He also washed our sidewalk and made a huge difference in the overall impression of the house. In a world of sketchy, unreliable contractors, you can count on Jamie to show up on time and do exactly what he says he will do. . This was money well spent. I absolutely and without hesitation recommend Jamie and iClean."

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

The easiest way to remove snow from a roof involves using a roof rake that allows you to clear snow from the ground. Roof rakes are lightweight and feature adjustable handles, making them user-friendly for most people. This method also helps prevent ice dams and excess snow buildup, reducing the risk of roof damage during winter months.

When should you remove snow from your roof? A good rule of thumb is once six inches of snow accumulates.

The fastest and most effective way to remove snow from a driveway is by using a powerful snow blower, such as a two- or three-stage model, which can clear the area in minutes. Other helpful options include a snow thrower, a wheelbarrow plow, and even a leaf blower for lighter snow. If you need immediate help, consider hiring a professional snow removal company to take care of it for you.

If a big freeze catches you by surprise and you don’t have any deicer to hand, you can reduce the chance of taking a tumble by laying gritty, anti-slip materials. Some natural, readily-available options that don’t melt ice but offer traction underfoot include sand, wood shavings, kitty litter, and fireplace ash.

Leaving a significant amount of snow on your roof can be risky. Most roofs are designed to handle about 20 pounds per square foot of snow, but exceeding this limit can lead to a roof collapse. A collapse can cause severe damage to your home and belongings and poses a physical danger to anyone inside. Furthermore, heavy snow accumulation increases the risk of ice dams, which can cause leaks and water damage to your roof, attic, and interior walls.

When temperatures drop far enough, even rock salt can’t melt the ice. The briny solution freezes before it develops, and the salt doesn’t work, which happens around 10 to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep in mind that wind chill and other factors impact ice-melting progress. Some ice melters, like magnesium chloride, work at colder temperatures and work better for deep winter freezes.
