"After several quotes and researching companies online, I chose to hire Eli and his crew for my driveway project, adding onto an existing driveway. Eli was easy to work with, responded to my calls promptly, and answered all my questions thoroughly. Pricing was competitive and job was completed the next day of hiring them. Driveway looks beautiful! Would recommend!"

"I contacted BTS Sealing Solutions to get an estimate. Brandon was quick to respond and gave a very fair estimate so I scheduled with him. He completed the work a couple of weeks later and did a beautiful job! He was very detail oriented. Not only would I recommend his work, but he was a kind, personable person who was a pleasure to work with!"

"Stephen Callahan responded to my home to provide an estimate on paving my driveway. I found him professional and respectful. He measured the area to be paved and offered a very reasonable and fair estimate. I approved the work and he and his crew were able to begin that day. I watched the project and witnessed his efficient crew as they the laid out my new beautiful driveway. I was so impressed that I asked Stephen to quote another 3200 sq ft and again he provided another reasonable quote. I highly recommend Beneficial Paving."

"I am extremely pleased with the work that Paramount Paving did with my driveway. I had a huge sunken in hole in the apron of my driveway due to a culvert collapsing underneath. I also had a couple places that needed reconstructed and overall everything leveled. The entire crew put a long workday in, even after my last minute decision to seal coat the driveway too. I was impressed to see the owner, Sal, be involved from the quote through the approved completion. I also find it extremely important and valuable to mention how professional Sal and all the crew were throughout the process. As a woman, I often get talked down to, literal eye rolls, and taken advantage of financially when getting quotes or hiring companies for various jobs around my house. Never did I once experience any of that with Paramount Paving. Any time I had a question, concern, or a discussion about my driveway, I was met with respect and a positive demeanor. It means a lot to be taken seriously and treated professionally, even though I might not know the technical trade vernacular. Thank you to Christie too, for keeping me in the loop while awaiting county and city permits. ~Alex"

Driveway Sealcoating questions, answered by experts

To maintain your asphalt driveway, add a new coat of sealant every three to five years. Pricing varies, but you will pay about $0.08 to $0.50 per square foot from start to finish. You can also choose to add a fill-and-seal layer that includes a layer of aggregate to fortify a damaged top layer of asphalt.

Fading color, visible cracks, or water pooling signal the need for sealing to prevent further damage.

There are more pros than cons, but there are a few disadvantages to sealing your driveway to be aware of. Sealant can make the surface slippery, which can be a hazard, especially when the driveway gets wet. Look for sealants with abrasive additives to help counteract this. You’ll also need to remember to reapply your sealant every two years and budget for the expense that comes with it.

Access to commercial-grade products and equipment, ensuring thorough coverage and long-lasting protection.

While blacktop is a type of asphalt, the terms should not be used interchangeably, as not all asphalt qualifies as blacktop. The primary differences are in their composition, production process, and ideal applications. Blacktop contains more stone than other types of asphalt and is heated to a higher temperature during production—300°F or more—while hot-mix asphalt is heated to between 275°F and 300°F. The ratio of bitumen (a tar-like crude oil) is a key differentiator, though sources vary: some state blacktop has less bitumen, making it less durable, while others claim it has a higher ratio. Due to these differences, asphalt is generally more durable and better for high-traffic areas like highways and streets, while blacktop is more suitable for playgrounds and residential driveways. For a driveway project, it is best to consult a professional to determine the most appropriate material.
