Welcome to my profile! I specialize in the design, fabrication and installation of IKEA kitchen cabinetry, giving you a semi custom kitchen for much less! IKEA kitchens are my specialty, and has been for the last two decades, across northern Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and West Virginia and New Jersey too. It's all I do. IKEA Kitchens are a great value, and you'll keep more money in your pocket than you would with other brands. The quality, fit and finish are very good- I've visited kitchens I've installed 20 years ago and they're still in good condition (my clients know they can reach me anytime after their install should issues arise!). IKEA uses only Blum hardware for door hinges and drawer glides- the best of the best. But IKEA kitchens demand a high degree of precision and has to be installed with this in mind, especially when incorporating wall ovens, micro drawers or other built-in appliances such as Fisher-Paykel, Miehle, etc. Give me a call or send an email about your project! No charge for estimates. Thank you, Erik Gustav Tel:614.483.7110 [email protected] www.ikeatech.com

"Erik was hired to install IKEA cabinets in our home for a full kitchen renovation. I felt confident in assembling the cabinets and finishing them (doors, hardware, drawers, toe kicks, etc) but we wanted a professional to make sure the cabinets were hung level, plumb, and square. From our first conversation it was obvious that Erik is an expert in all things IKEA. He provided some guidance and changes to our design to make some subtle improvements that would not have been obvious to us. He also immediately identified a critical flaw in our design that would have greatly impacted the final outcome but luckily we had enough time to get the proper replaced item. Communication with Erik was decent but be prepared for patience with emails and texts. Phone calls seemed to be most effective. Also be prepared to be patient for his schedule. Despite our efforts to plan ahead and get on “his radar” back in July, it still took several rounds of calls and discussions to finally get a week nailed down and the arrival day wasn’t determined until the week-of. You will need to be flexible. The installation was very fast - he had all of the work completed in one day. He is also very precise and detailed. He took time to show me how cabinets were anchored to the wall, that cabinets were level and prepped for the countertop template. He also cleaned up nicely, was courteous in our home and has a professional demeanor. The installation wasn’t without issue though. He accidentally stepped on a weak piece of our corner cabinet and broke it. His solution was to “sister” a piece below it. I was told it wouldn’t affect the countertops as this had no load bearing properties and it won’t be visible once countertops are installed. I believe that he is correct, and accidents happen, but it was disappointing as mishaps was something I wanted to avoid and large reason why we elected to hire someone rather than do the installation ourselves. No adjustment was made to the agreed upon price to account for the broken cabinet which I felt would have been the appropriate thing to do even it was a minor reduction. Overall, I would hire Erik again and be better prepared to be patient and clearly a communicate my expectations. He is precise, detailed, and very knowledgeable on IKEA systems. His involvement resulted in a nice overall outcome."

We have a full staff that can handle various projects. We accept all major credit cards. We have numerous sales promotions throughout the year. We are a member of the Better Business Bureau.

"Lousy!! We met with Paul Mattox in July, 2018 and bought new cabinets from him. He said he would begin in Sept., and we must pay 1/2 of the total cost before he would even begin. So, I gave him $4000 of the $8000 total cost, September and October came and went. Nothing from Mr. Mattox. My husband called him in November. He said he would get to it soon. I told him that I did not want my kitchen torn up for the holidays. January came, and my husband called him again. Mr. Mattox said he would be there the next week. He finally made it. (He was paid in full by the end of this session). He and his son came to put in the new cabinets. They were not careful as they worked. He put about 6-7 knicks in the wood floor (which had been redone 2 years ago) as he and his son pulled, muscled, and tugged to place the cabinets in their spots. Also, the old floor color could be seen about an inch around the cabinets near the floor. The upper cabinets had areas (that had been covered up) exposed with old colors, etc. The cabinets on the island, also, exposed the old color on the floor. The back of the island is not reinforced and is flimsy. The island issue has still not been fixed, and it is, now, one year since we had our first encounter with Mr. Mattox. There is one cabinet that needs glass put in it that has not been addressed. He, now, says his granddaughter has been very ill. I believe him, but he has exhibited these delays since we first started, and she wasn’t in this condition, at that point in time. I am VERY disappointed with the entire experience of working with Paul Maddox of Maddox Woodworking. He is NOT dependable, he is not truthful, and is a procrastinator. Maybe, it has not always been this way, but it is now. I would NOT recommend him. As it is, we have paid 8000 dollars, time period has been one year, and the job is still NOT finished!!!! ?"

FAQs for cabinet making projects in Cincinnati, OH

Custom cabinets are worth the investment to transform the look of your kitchen with a design, color scheme, and aesthetic that’s unique to your home. If you’re looking for cabinets that reflect your personality but are more cost-effective, semi-custom cabinets are a great alternative that allows you to showcase your style, but with pre-made cabinets instead of fully custom. Custom cabinets also provide a 70 to 80 percent return on investment, making them a worthwhile purchase.

There are a few key differences between custom and semi-custom cabinets. While custom cabinets offer complete customization, semi-custom cabinets are less personalized, offering fewer paint color, finish, and hardware choices. In addition, custom cabinets typically take longer to install due to the build time, whereas semi-custom cabinets are prefabricated and therefore faster to install.

If you're looking for ways to save money on custom cabinets, there are a few ways to cut costs without sacrificing beauty. For starters, comparing door styles to choose the most cost-effective option is a great way to save money on the overall project.

In addition, choosing a common wood species versus an exotic one will lower the price. Woods like oak and hickory are often more affordable wood choices, and the same goes for knobs, pulls, and other finishes where picking a commonly available style can reduce costs.

Custom cabinets cost between $500 and $1,200 per linear foot on average to install. Factors like materials, size, and type of cabinet doors you choose significantly affect the overall cost.

For example, a basic slab cabinet door can cost $60 to $70 for materials alone. As its name suggests, this material is a piece of wood with no unique features. However, a mullioned glass inset panel door, which features a designed glass panel, ranges from $100 to $200 for materials per cabinet door.

Like most special-order items, custom cabinets have several pros and cons to consider when buying new cabinets. Custom cabinets are typically more expensive than prefabricated cabinet options, but the work often reflects the quality. Custom cabinets tend to last 20 or more years, but the time it takes to install them is typically longer than other cabinets—roughly 6 to 8 weeks on average from the time of ordering. However, a major benefit is the ability to personalize every aspect of your cabinetry, from cabinet hardware to custom paint colors.
