"My 450 ft long driveway badly needed to be regraded and needed a solution to the 2-3 seasonal springs that drained and washed and created deep ruts all winter and spring. TSS came and really studied the problems of the driveway, figured out a great multiple pipe drainage solution, regraded, dug out a boulder that was slowly working its way to the surface, installed the pipes. They used larger gravel around the pipes and a thick layer of gravel and dust over everything. Then rolled/compacted it all with a 3 ton roller. All of this in one day. They were very easy to work with, really listened to all of the unique issues the driveway has, carefully dug out peonies that were in the way of one pipe's end. They did a wonderful job and I'm hoping I can hire them to clear a couple of difficult hillsides befor winter too. First time in years that I can ask people to my house and not explain how to get up the driveway!"

"First time experience amazing results. Communication was clear and followed through from the beginning starting with the call. I had reached out to four prior company's. All there quotes were more then double. I will be a return costumer for any future home repair projects ."

"After snowfall in late February 2022 melted, I noticed a dip or trench that formed in my near year-old front yard, the trench under the builder warranty, but with the delays in the building industry, the builder couldn't repair it until well after the grass seed planting season, so PG Excavating provided me an estimate for which the builder reimbursed, and PG did the topsoil fill and grading the same day that they were scheduled to do sump pump drainage work in my backyard. PG is professional, friendly, and hard-working--completed all the work and cleaned up in about six hours all on the same day."

Small jobs welcome

"Justin was very professional and his work is outstanding. However, his communication should be better with the customer. There were times when he was gone for the day with us not knowing what was happening. To Justin’s credit, we did have rain during the week which could have made a difference in communication. But like I said, he did a great job."

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

Prior to excavation, you should prepare the dig site and call 311 before you sign anything.

To get your site ready for excavation, you should move anything in the area that isn’t affixed to the land. You can save money on the excavation by removing hardscaping, including walkways, decks, concrete patios, and paver patios.

Before you carry out any digging, you should call 311 to confirm that there are no utility lines running through your excavation site. Skipping this step could lead to severe injury and property damage if your excavator hits a water, sewage, or gas line.

Land surveys are worth it in several scenarios including selling your home, building an addition, constructing a fence, or making major changes to your landscape. A professional land survey can help you avoid legal issues with your neighbors and confirm the value of your property. In many cases, you may be required to order a land survey to receive a construction permit or mortgage loan.

Surveys completed by licensed surveyors can be recorded with a local surveying records office, and in most cases, they will be. Filing survey reports categorize them as legal documents, and they can be used whenever legal documentation of your property’s boundaries is needed. While you’re not required to file survey documents, it’s a good idea to do so.

Yes, they assess topography and potential risks related to flooding.

Permit requirements to clear land vary by municipality, so whether or not you need permits depends on where you live and what you’re removing from the land. Some building departments will require permits for any underground work or excavation, meaning grinding down tree stumps on your property would require permits. Others mandate individual permits for each tree you remove. You can contact your local building department or a land-clearing specialist near you to see if permits are necessary for your job.
