"Had All-Seal Home Improvement from Medway, Ohio install 9 new windows in my house. I would not let All-Seal do your windows if you are going to have new windows installed. To ensure accuracy, All-Seal sent two separate persons to measure the existing window openings. When my new windows arrived the installers for All-Seal discovered that the windows did not fit even though each window was measured twice by All-Seal. The measurements were off. But the All-Seal installers forced the brand new windows into the openings by pounding and twisting the new window frames into the opening. As a result of the pounding and twisting from the installers all the inside window framing nd trim molding for all 9 windows was damaged. I called All-Seal and a representative came out and took pictures of the damage and offered to fix the damage. I was not about to let the same company send out people to repair my damaged window framing and molding. I would not recommend All-Seal Home Improvement to install anything."

Doors questions, answered by experts

If your specific sliding glass door model is out of stock or no longer being built, it may still be best to contact the original manufacturer or installer. They can suggest a comparable replacement that is similar in size, avoiding more expensive repairs to retrofit a new door to an older opening.

Barrier doors or screen doors are ideal for bringing in summer breezes without letting in pesky flies and mosquitoes. But these types of doors aren’t as secure as a security door, which is installed with permanent screws into the home’s walls and often have deadbolts or other heavy-duty lock mechanisms for better security.

A deadbolt lock is typically considered more secure than a regular lock based on its internal construction. Each deadbolt type has varying levels of security, ranging from withstanding a small amount of force to those that can take on multiple strikes and greater force. Regular locks provide little to no security and are typically used more for easy entry and simple installation.

Leaving vents open but closing doors in unused rooms will probably not save money on your energy bill. Closed doors prevent the natural flow of air throughout the home, which could reduce the efficiency of the overall HVAC system. They could also restrict airflow into and through the return vents, making the HVAC system less efficient.

Clean glass and frames regularly, lubricate hinges, and inspect seals for wear to ensure functionality.
