"I had a great experience with Mason and Home Land Improvements from start to finish. He was professional, punctual and efficient throughout the entire process of tearing down my shed and removing all debris. He worked quickly while still being careful and thorough, leaving the area, clean and exactly as promised. His communication was clear, pricing was fair and the job was completed on schedule. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for reliable demolition and cleanup services."

"Owner Ken McGuire completed the work by himself when the project would have gone better with an additional worker. Ken under estmated the amount of top soil required - 12 cubic yards vs. 4 cubic yards. This required extra trips to get soil. Overall, I am satisfied and would use McGuire Property Services again for any type of landscaping services."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

When a surface that contains lead dust is disturbed, the dust can float about in the air for roughly an hour before settling again. Since you cannot see the dust, it is important always to wear protective gear when working with any materials that may contain lead paint and to keep children, pets, and others away from the area for as long as possible

You do not have to remove lead paint if the surface is not chipping or peeling or if there are no pregnant people or children under the age of six who live in or regularly visit your home. Lead paint is a particular risk for young children whose brains and bodies are not fully developed. Experts strongly recommend that you call a pro to remove lead paint if it’s peeling or flaking, no matter who lives in the home. You can experience lead poisoning by breathing in or ingesting just a small amount of it.

No, you can’t place hazardous waste in a dumpster unless you specifically ordered a dumpster for hazardous waste removal. If the dumpster company finds hazardous waste that it didn’t approve for dumping, the company will return the waste to you, and you’ll likely face a fine for illegal dumping.

If the lead paint is in a place that is not easily disturbed and is not flaking or deteriorating, you do not necessarily need to remove it. Lead is toxic when dust particles or flakes from peeling lead paint are ingested. If people are not in the area with the lead paint, it may be safe to leave it in place. You still may want to consider encapsulation with a paint formulated for covering lead-based paint, just for an added layer of protection.

No. Standard homeowners insurance does not cover any kind of lead remediation, focusing instead on sudden, unpreventable events like fires and theft. Many insurance companies will specifically exclude lead paint removal, since it tends to be an expensive and unavoidable project. The exception is if the lead surface is damaged during a covered event (like a flood) and homeowners insurance pays its replacement.
