I’ve worked in commercial carpentry for 3 years with the union. Decided to switch to remodeling and worked for a company called Cortese Construction for the last 3 years. There I learned how to renovate both large and small kitchen and bathrooms. I can set cabinets, install LVP flooring, tile, hang and finish drywall, paint, install windows and doors, trim, and framing. I can work in the Erie and Niagara county areas.

"My 70 year old bathtub looks brand new and I am so pleased! Chris and Masum did a fabulous job...they were helpful, courteous and professional. They answered every question I had, and cleaned up my bathroom very well. Munro staff, Joanne and Diane, very friendly and gave me instant quote directly over the phone. "Through “Angi” we were looking for a professional to install Hardwood flooring AND Extremely pleased with the oak hardwood flooring installed by Holliday Home Flooring LLC . Brandon Holliday and his apprentice Jayden were professional, prompt, courteous, Brandon explained each day what we could expect to be done . The job was well planned out and completed on time . Concerns along the way were fully discussed before progressing . At the end of each day the work site was totally cleaned up and ready for the next morning. Upon completion of the floor install they helped us install felt pads under all furniture and place back in room . Brandon is listed with the BBB, Licensed & Insured. We were very comfortable with the payment setup as well . Percentage down at the start of the job, percentage due half way through the job, and then upon completion balance due . We highly recommend Holliday Home and Flooring ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

There are several low-maintenance shower floor tiles to consider for your bathroom. Stone tiles are easy to keep clean and only need an occasional resealing to keep them looking their best. Porcelain is another low-maintenance choice, as it doesn’t stain easily. Vinyl is also suitable for easy upkeep. On the other hand, one of the highest maintenance options for bathrooms is wood tile.

When considering the types of grout for your project, unsanded grout is the best choice for penny tile. Unsanded grout can fit better into narrow spaces, like those between the small penny tiles, and it’s easier to smooth out for a seamless finish. However, if you’re unsure, check with a tile installation pro to determine which grout is best for your specific project.

Glass tile is one of the easiest materials to maintain. It is both stain and water-resistant, making it easy to clean and incredibly durable. This also makes it resistant to mold and mildew. However, make sure it’s kept clean, otherwise, your grout might start to degrade. Glass is liable to scratch, so ensure you’re using non-abrasive materials and products, like soft sponges and wipes.

The process takes two to four days, depending on the size of the area and your experience level. The first day involves assessing and prepping the existing tile, while the second day is for laying the new tile. This may take longer in complex areas. After letting the adhesive dry for 24 hours, grouting and sealing can be completed on day three. For larger projects or intricate tile patterns, expect the timeline to stretch a bit longer. Also, proper drying time between steps is essential for long-lasting results, which extends the project’s time.

When choosing between porcelain and ceramic tile, the best option depends on your specific needs, budget, and project application. Porcelain tile is generally more durable, denser, and harder than ceramic, making it a good choice for busy, high-traffic areas. It also offers superior moisture resistance, making it ideal for moisture-retaining spaces. However, porcelain is typically more expensive, and its hardness can make it brittle, potentially causing it to crack if a heavy object is dropped on it. In contrast, ceramic tile is a more budget-friendly option with lower material and installation costs. It is softer and easier to work with, making it a great choice for DIY projects. While not as durable as porcelain, ceramic is still a quality material suitable for many home applications, particularly small, decorative projects.
