I spent months trying to find a stone mason to fix it with a success until finally in December I found Cutting Edge Tile. They do Stone and concrete work in addition to brick and tile and their work is excellent and professional work from first contact to billing. It was a pleasure to deal with everyone who worked for the company, including Bill, the contractor, Angela in the office and Jake, the stone mason. Jake listen to all my concerns and a very skilled job in place with difficult access. He also cleaned up All the broken stone and concrete that the rodents had broken up. I couldn’t have asked for the job to be done better. I wholeheartedly recommend them to everyone
- Chimney SolutionsFrom the estimating and planning through the take-down of the old chimney and rebuild of the new one, the project was nicely done. I felt I was in the loop on the choice of materials and planning for the rebuild. The crew worked around gardens and landscaping that would have been damaged if they had not taken extra care. They also took care to protect sky lights and a recently painted outdoor deck from any falling construction debris. They were punctual, kept the work area clean and well organized at the end of a work day
- Chimney SolutionsWe had a water leak due to crumbling mortar, no cap, and bad flashing. We also have a gas boiler, and the existing clay liner could not handle the moisture produced by the gas. To fix all these issues, I had originally planned to have multiple companies do the work (all of them wanted to charge us about 4 times as much as Chimney Solutions and take at least 4 months to do the work). In the end, I felt Chimney Solutions was the best equipped for the job, and they offered the most competitive and complete bid, so we went with them. We scheduled the work about 3 weeks out from the initial estimate, and 4 workers completed the job in 2 days. Overall, we are happy with the service, the work, and the value, and would choose Chimney Solutions again

Tom was also responsive to a call after the work was completed when a minor defect was noted in the curing concrete. He repaired the area with a small patch of portland cement. Scaffolding was built and the chimney was taken apart piece by piece and a sigh of relief was had by all when the area of the missing bricks was reached. Everything was taken into consideration including the flowers in my mother's garden. Work was done in a very clean manner and safety was always taken into consideration. When all the work was done you would never have know someone was there working. Tom and his worker always arrived on time and our project was done in a timely manner. Communication from request of an estimate to the finish of the project was always professional and timely too. Any issues were resolved easily with understanding, discussion, and agreement of both parties. I would highly recommend Tom to anyone and I would also consider him for my masonry needs in the future
- Wulfs Chimneys & VentingI called several masons and left messages and received no calls back. Mark Wulf personally answered the phone and said he was "absolutely" interested in looking at the job. He came to my house 2 hr. later, inspected the problem and gave me a fair price and a written estimate. He came back the next morning at 8:30 and did the job. He performed the work in good time in a professional manner and left the site as clean as he found it. I was very satisfied with the whole experience

He also sealed two "ashes chutes" under each of our fireplaces (they filled with water during rain and poured out into the basement!). He did all this for $1,000, which I thought was very reasonable. He was there for two full days. He also accompanied me to several homes that we were considering purchasing in order to give me estimates for necessary repairs. He did this as a free estimate service. His expert opinion on these homes helped us avoid buying a home with serious structural defects, and/or out-of-control future expenses. He was professional, prompt, courteous, and a joy to work with. I would highly recommend him, and will use him again in the future

"Very well. It started with the estimate visit by Ron. Unlike other contractors, he showed me just the necessary amount of work. For example, others told me my lally columns would need to be replaced and he showed me that the rust was superficial. That saved me hundreds of dollars. When they got there on time, the crew was obviously experienced and worked well with me and with each other. They worked efficiently, were very nice and cleaned up after themselves - inside and outside. They did little extras for me such as prying up a specialty floor tile to preserve it and fill in a channel which had been cut into the basement floor previously. I felt no hesitation to ask questions, which is kind of rare in work crews. They said the job would take 2 days and it took about 1.5 days. Another extra was I needed 2 new basement windows. 3 had been replaced previously and Ron took the time to order identical windows so all 5 windows would match. That was nice. All this for a reasonable price. I highly recommend B-Sure!

"We just finished a big project, big for us, and couldn't be happier with the workers. Dave has been a great help clarifying an issue and the foreman Steve has kept up up to date with every move they are making. The workers Joey and Tony were polite and did all they could to keep the dust and dirt to a minimum. That was a tough job working in a crawl space and having to enter and exit the house in the snow and bad weather. Other craftsmen (that's all I can call them, they were so in tuned to what they were doing) came in during the week to lend a hand, and they too were top notch. I will say, I am sure not everyone wouldn't mind the dirt tracked through the house, but they made every effort to clean up the last crumb. "Expert House Movers brought a crew of 6-8 & came in late August 2013 to start the process of raising & moving the house. My husband had done all the prep work of disconnecting the utilities & removing the furnace, etc. They dug access ramps to the old foundation/basement with bobcats. They poked good sized holes around the foundation so they could put in steel beams and jack up the house. Our foundation was from 1917 & built from old creek gravel cement, so it was pretty tough. It took three & half days to jack the house & move it over the driveway. It seemed really fast to me. The only thing to fall in the house was a picture off the piano. We still had access to the house through a tall ladder to get clothes, etc. that we needed.
<br /> We took over the process of arranging excavation, concrete pouring, and carpenters with more local contractors. Expert does have concrete people & others they use in the St Louis area that know exactly the requirements needed for the new foundation.
<br /> After the basement was poured & cured (curing takes about 3-4 weeks), Expert returned in October 2013 to move & set the house. They had been in contact with the concrete man for specifications, but there were no slots for the beams when setting the house down. A concrete worker had to come & cut those slots. We had a carpenter on hand to finish the sill installment & make sure the sills for the permanent beams was correct & set the support posts in the basement. We also had a friend's tractor help Expert's bobcat pull the house back over the foundation. While all this was going on, Expert was jacking and moving supports & placing slider beams & raising & lowering the house. The process was complete in about 2 1/2 days with care & precision. Some of the cracks in our house even disappeared. Great job guys.
<br /> Our carpenters returned to build a staircase & some other requirements. We are working on re-connecting utilities & returning the furnace, water heater, etc. to the new basement. We plan to move back into the house in the first week or so in November 2013. It's been a long process, but well worth it. Made possible by Expert House Movers!
