"The rep came out and reviewed the areas of concern.  He gave me an estimate on the spot. The next day I decided to go with JBH and the project was scheduled for the following week.  The workers arrived within the scheduled time period and they were very pleasant to work with. They were responsive, efficient and neat. The job was completed in no time.

Small jobs welcome

"We had contractors come in and give us a price for removal of what we thought was asbestos floor tile. A friend of ours who works in the school district told us to call Jet Environmental and get it tested. We did and as it turn out it wasn’t asbestos and save us a lot of money."

"The 5 man crew came within two days of contacting Global and getting an estimate from Ken the owner. They had all the necessary equipment and did an excellent job in the finished attic of my garage. They even put an extra coat of special paint on the ceiling at no extra cost. They also removed a rug and some building materials from the attic also at no extra charge. I needed this work done as part of a home sale inspection and Global took before and after photos and provided the necessary forms and certificates for the real estate agent and attorneys two days after job completion. I highly recommend Ken and Global Restoration."

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

If high radon levels are detected, steps include sealing entry points, installing a mitigation system, and retesting the air regularly to ensure reduced levels.

There are steps you can take as a homeowner to remediate radon yourself. While a radon reduction professional can make the biggest impact in your home, you can make efforts to improve radon levels on your own by sealing cracks, increasing ventilation, and testing for radon regularly.

No level of radon is technically safe, but since it is present everywhere, complete avoidance is impossible. The average radon level in homes across the United States is 1.3 picocuries per liter (pCi/L). The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends taking preventative measures if your home's radon levels are between 2 and 4 pCi/L or higher.

The fan that pulls the radon out of the air needs to run continuously, so you may see an increase in your electric bill once you install the mitigation system. Additionally, you may see an increase in your heating or cooling bills, as the fan can cause some loss of hot or cool air.

While DIY testing is possible, abatement generally requires professional installation to ensure efficacy and meet safety standards.
