"Jared was awesome. From the initial phone call through the end of the job he was very professional and courteous. Assessed the problem, took the time to explain to me exactly what he planned on doing, and went over the possible outcomes (good and bad). Got right to work and had the drain clear in no time. 5 star experience all the way around and would absolutely recommend him to anyone who needs a plumber. Hopefully I won’t need a plumber again any time soon, but I know who I’ll call if I do."

"William and Dominick were very punctual, courteous and professional. I hired them to install a sump, including digging the pit, sump pump, and a backup water powered sump pump. They did their job extremely well and were able to finish the work in 1 day, as promised. Additionally they did extra work for no charge, like changing out my broken water valve, changing my humidifier water feed and cleaned out my basement bathroom grinder pump sump tank. All in all I am very happy with my choice of these guys, and would definitely recommend them and would use them again in the future. I was chatting with Will and I am so glad that he has a long term view of building his business, rather than many small businesses that are in just for the quick buck and not concerned about their reputation and future customers. Many guys will just change their business to a different name and continue with their unsavory practices. Good for you guys Will and Dom, and PLEASE keep up the good work!"

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

No. You should never pour old paint down a drain or sewer because it can clog pipes and pollute the environment. You must dispose of paint properly and safely. Different types of paint need to be disposed of in different ways—oil-based paints must be taken to a paint recycling center, while you can throw dried-out water- or latex-based paints in the garbage.

For disposal clogs with standing water, use a sink plunger and place it over the garbage disposal drain. Push the sink plunger up and down the drain about six to eight times before lifting. If the sink drains, the clogged food particles are dislodged from the drain. If there’s still standing water, repeat the steps until the standing water clears out.

If you drop jewelry down your sink, it can cause a clog, especially if it accumulates other debris on its way down. However, that is the least of your worries if you drop your favorite jewelry down your drain. If your gold band goes tumbling down the sink drain, don’t panic—refrain from running more water down the sink, and follow the steps above.

Costs vary by severity and access requirements. Typical pricing ranges from $100 to $350, increasing with complexity or for emergency services.

Yes, you can use vinegar to unclog a dishwasher. To do so, combine 4 tablespoons of white vinegar with 4 tablespoons of baking soda and pour the mixture down your dishwasher’s drain. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then pour a cup of hot water down the drain to flush everything out. Finally, run a rinse cycle on your dishwasher to see if the clog is gone.
