Small jobs welcome

"Very knowledgeable and personal. Will politely offer alternatives that could make your life easier and/or save money. Brian installed a bunch of flooring and windows in my house. He did a phenomenal job, looks great, trim and minor details are spot on. He was also very patient with what is currently going on (inflation, price fluctuations, and transportation issues). He was in informative and communicated issues (it took us many months to get a few windows in). So, just be patient and communicate. I would definitely hire again."

"They were very pleasant! Arrived on time for estimate and on job day. They had a large crew who swarmed our house and got to work. They laid tarps and sheets of wood against windows and doorways to protect my house. At one point when they removed a sky light some debris fell into my kitchen through the hole, no biggie but the main guy knocked on the door and came in and swept it up! All in all it was a good experience and the roof and and skylights look amazing? I don't for see and problems with the roof or skylights but I have confidence that if something does come up they will take care of it, no problem."

Doors questions, answered by experts

You should generally cut between 1/8-inch and 1 inch when planing a door. If you cut off more than that, you risk damaging the door. Planing too much from the bottom of your door can cause noticeable gaps, so it’s always better to start with as thin of a section as possible and work in thin layers until your door no longer sticks.

The cost of folding patio doors is higher than the typical patio door cost because of their size, complex mechanisms, and additional hardware needed to operate them. These doors may stretch as far as 18 feet, require specialized installation from an expert, and have many more moving parts that could malfunction if not installed carefully.

Yes, you can add a screen door to most door frames. The screen should be able to fit standard-size door frames, so unless you have an unusually sized door, you shouldn’t have an issue. Just make sure to properly measure the frame. When in doubt, it’s best to let a pro take care of this task for you so it’s installed correctly.

This hack required some hand strength. First, bend the fork's tines. Next, slip the pointed ends into the door latch and close the door. Open the door to remove the fork and break off the fork's handle. Reinsert the fork's head into the door latch and close the door. Finally, slide the fork's handle through the tines, creating a horizontal barrier that prevents the door from opening inward.

You will need to modify an existing door to use it as a barn door for a number of reasons. For example, a barn door sits on a track several inches off the ground. An existing panel door will hover above the ground. A door that is slightly wider than the door opening is also ideal for the barn style.
