We are a small, yet experienced and knowledgeable locksmithing company located in New Hartford, New York. We perform residential, commercial, and safe services to CNY and the surrounding areas. We are slowly progressing into automotive work. Call us today for any additional questions or inquiries.

"Order never arrived. 11 days later the owner told me they sent the wrong part and he would take care of it then get back to me. 3 days later I messaged him to find out he was sick and planned to be out of the office for the next few weeks. So he had no intention of getting my order done. We bickered via txt message where he blamed me for buying cheap hardware. Now I have no part and my project is more than 2 weeks delayed. Very unprofessional and blames everyone but himself."

Locksmiths questions, answered by experts

When it comes to how to get a stuck key out of a lock, the simplest way is to use some kind of lubricating substance. One option is to apply graphite powder while wiggling the key gently. As the graphite fills the lock, jiggling should loosen the key enough to allow you to pull it out.

Smart locks offer around the same level of safety as conventional locks with keys. The best way to secure your door locks is to combine routine locking mechanisms with other home safety features, like lighting, motion sensors, security cameras, and window and door sensors.

Smart locks have the upper hand when it comes to convenience—you won't have to worry about your key not turning in the lock or fumbling around in your bag for your keys—but beyond that, any door with deadbolts will offer a similar degree of security.

Regrettably, entirely pick-proof locks don't exist unless you opt for keyless varieties. Locks advertised as "pick-proof" are, in reality, more resilient against lock-picking and bumping attempts because of complex mechanisms consisting of pins and sidebars. These locks work like this—they assign two tasks to the key, enhancing security by making unauthorized entry more challenging.

Rekeying door locks yourself costs a fraction of what you would expect to pay a locksmith. On average, it costs between $50 to $100 to hire a local locksmith to rekey your house, though labor costs may vary based on where you live. For a DIY solution, you can expect to spend $11 to $25 on a rekeying kit.

You might want to change a door lock entry code for a handful of reasons. The most common answers are extra security or a forgotten code. You may also find yourself in a position where you need to temporarily change the code to allow a guest to come and go freely but want to switch it back once things return to normal.
