"Me and my wife Wendy Wilkinson want to give a huge shout out to Westside Connections Cornhole and their founders Deebo Brown and Jennifer Lyn. Thanks to them and their sponsor Family Locksmith, we were able to finally get a key(s) made for our truck that were lost almost 2 months ago. Some would say what is so special about getting keys made? Well this key was chipped and due to the vehicle being over 10 years old, everyone else said they were unable to do the job. We contacted several local car dealerships as well as several other locksmiths. I mean Wendy just about contacted everyone short of contacting the Ford Plant. It wasnt until I was looking at WestSide Connection Cornhole pictures from their league night that i saw their sponsors boards. Wendy contacted Family Locksmith today and the owner came out sooner than scheduled, was very professional, very reasonable and got the job done. So again thank you, Deebo, Jenn and Family Locksmith, you got us back to being a two vehicle family. We highly recommend them."

"Dave Smith was AWESOME! Very knowledgeable and patient. We added new items to our order at the 12th hour and he came back twice to make sure that everything was completed as we desired. We also had Alarm Protection Group secure our office. Dave Smith and Co. make the process very easy-Highly recommended."

"Walter and Glen at Protect Your Home Group with ADT are the best people to talk to in terms of security alarm. Being a locksmith myself I know how important it is to deal with the right people. I referred a lot of customers to them and so far they are happy with their service. I myself got one for my house. Thank you for a consistent service and great deal."

"Equipment is Self-Installation, which is fine, but the equipment is not very good quality and requiring constant care. Keypad/interface with the main system is not intuitive at all.

"Could not have asked for better more professional workmanship. Serge and Nick were always on time and worked from the moment that arrived to the moment they left. When the left the room was clean and Serge was good about explaining what had been done and what they would be doing the next day.The room looks fantastic; better than i ever would have expected. I will definitely hire them back again for our next remodeling project."

Locksmiths questions, answered by experts

First thing first: Make sure you’re using the right key. If it’s the correct key for your lock, there are a few reasons why it may not be working, like the key is worn out or the lock is jammed. Try lubricating the lock and pushing the door closed to ensure the mechanisms work correctly. If you’re still locked out, call in for help.

If your key breaks in a lock, first remain calm and avoid forcing the broken piece further in. You may be able to remove it yourself if a portion of the key is still protruding from the lock. To aid removal, lubricate the keyhole with a graphite-based spray. Then, try using tools like pliers, tweezers, a bobby pin, or even a jigsaw blade to gently grasp and pull the broken piece out. If these methods don't work, you can't reach the key, or you're concerned about damaging the lock, it's best to call a professional locksmith for assistance.

Expect to pay between $50 to $200 if you hire a locksmith to change your locks. That figure includes labor and the cost of basic hardware. The cost will naturally be higher if you plan to install more expensive locks, like smart locks, and if you need a lot of them.

Homeowners can save money by replacing locks themselves. A typical rekeying kit costs about $10 to $25. The only additional cost is purchasing new house keys, and those are no more than a few dollars per key. If you want to replace the locks on your own completely, the main cost is the price of the locks themselves. A standard knob-style lock starts around $25, while electronic locks and smart locks will run in the hundreds of dollars. The only additional tools you should need are a tape measure, screwdriver, and screws if they are not already provided.

When it comes to how to get a stuck key out of a lock, the simplest way is to use some kind of lubricating substance. One option is to apply graphite powder while wiggling the key gently. As the graphite fills the lock, jiggling should loosen the key enough to allow you to pull it out.

Lock bumping is a technique locksmiths use to quickly and quietly open a pin tumbler lock, typically found in most types of deadbolts. It involves inserting a specially crafted key, or bump key, into the lock and tapping or "bumping" it with a mallet or similar tool. The force applied causes the lock's pins to jump momentarily, allowing the lock to be turned and opened. Unfortunately, thieves also use this technique to break into homes. Luckily, products like a deadbolt strap will fortify your lock.
