"Aaron Lenker add Corbin Gillichbauer of Groundworks leveled concrete walks around my corner lot in Montoursville Pa. They arrived around noon time and were finished about 5 1/2 hours later. They did their work very professionally. They did an excellent job. I would rate their work 5 of 5 stars."

"I couldn't ask for a better contractor. John Puma and his crew were outstanding. Extremely professional  and punctual.
When I first met John I got a positive vibe that he was going to be the one to do the job. I interviewed several companies and John gave me a fair price for the work he was going to do. He was very knowledgeable about the work that needed to be done. I was getting water in my basement and we came to the conclusion that water proofing the foundation wall was going to be the rout to go.
He also re-pitched my pavers in the yard so that the water would not lay in the yard after every rain storm. He also added proper drainage in the yard to divert the water away from the house.
After the water proofing was done he and his crew poured new concrete throughout the driveway.
If you are looking to get this type of work done, look no further. This company did it right.
Professional, knowledgeable and very clean when working. John and his crew were great.
Two major storms and not a drop of water in my basement now.... A+

"Marbin and his workers were great. I changed the date three times and they accommodated me without a problem. They were friendly, polite, and moved everything I needed moved. They handled everything with care and did not break anything. He brings his own tools and disassembles what is needed. I highly recommend this company."

"Front step Bluestone concrete was cracked and the concrete underneath was crumbling. Salt and elements accelerated the problem this winter. Called on a Saturday afternoon, Cleiton was there within an hour! By evening, an emailed estimate arrived. Job commenced, Cleiton was there every day, with an additional helper. Cleaned up EVERY night, the job site was cordoned off for safety and Cleiton communicated adjustments that were necessary as the project ended up being a bit more difficult than we thought. (The underlying concrete was crumbling and had to be re-poured.) Overall, EXCELLENT job and though it was a bit more than estimated, the price was fair for the work done and done beautifully."

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

Polyjacking and mudjacking can both be effective solutions for sinking concrete, but they have key differences. Polyjacking, which uses expanding polyurethane foam, is often considered a better option because the foam is significantly lighter than the cementitious material used for mudjacking. This reduced weight puts less pressure on the underlying soil and lowers the risk of future sinking. Polyjacking is suitable for any sinking concrete slab, while mudjacking is typically only recommended for non-structural concrete, such as sidewalks, patios, pool decks, and driveways. The primary drawback of polyjacking is its cost, which can be up to four times higher than mudjacking—as much as $25 per square foot compared to a maximum of about $6 per square foot for mudjacking.

There is no real alternative to underpinning, although mudjacking and polyjacking are other repair methods that can add support from underneath your foundation. Rather than placing supportive piers under your structure, these involve pumping a material under your slab to lift a sunken section back into its original position. Polyjacking, in particular, is sometimes a suitable solution for stabilization issues under slab foundations, but underpinning is often accepted as the best and most permanent solution.

Most projects take 1-3 hours, with immediate usability after completion.

On average, a mudjacking repair lasts between five and 10 years, though it can sometimes last for well beyond a decade under ideal conditions. Its longevity depends heavily on several factors, including the condition of the underlying soil, environmental conditions like freeze/thaw cycles and erosion, and whether the root cause of the sinking, such as drainage issues, is resolved. Because it doesn't always fix the underlying problem of loose soil, mudjacking is often considered a temporary solution. Proper maintenance and evaluation can help extend its lifespan.

The average cost for mudjacking is around $1,200, though prices can range from $300 to $3,400. On a per-square-foot basis, you can expect to pay between $3 and $8, with an average of about $5 per square foot. The final cost depends on several factors, including the square footage of the concrete, the type of slab, its accessibility, whether it is load-bearing, and the type of material used to lift it. Generally, lifting a driveway, small patio, or sidewalk is less expensive than lifting a slab foundation or garage floor.
