"I hired Jamal for a complete transformation of my home. He painted 6 rooms and a garage, was very respectful and professional and I would recommend him to anyone in need of help with such jobs. Sadly I?m not home to take pics but definitely worth every penny. And it was very fairly priced"

"As soon as I sent an inquiry about painting the interior of our summer home in Hector, Jared got back to me. He scheduled a very detailed walkthrough within a week ( worked around our schedule), and sent us a very fair estimate within 24 hours. They started the work almost immediately and finished on time. Jared requested a walk through upon completion. Jared and staff are professionals, good attention to detail and has recommendations on how to properly treat walls/ceilings when they found damage. They took down all wall hanging, filled in holes. Jared is very friendly, professional and does what he says he will do. Without a doubt will call JMB for any future jobs. He's our go-to for anything related to painting, staining etc."

Painting questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can waterproof any wood that has not already been treated. A good way to test this is to splash some water on it. If the water starts to bead up, the wood is treated and most likely doesn’t need another coating.

The best way to prepare your vinyl fence for a paint job is to clean it with warm, soapy water and rinse it with a hose or pressure washer on a low setting. Be sure to let it totally dry, then sand the surface before applying an epoxy-based primer. After the primer, you're ready to paint your vinyl fence.

Moisture and rot are the largest threat to wooden fences. Stain can help your wood fence last 15 to 20 years, but only if you choose a stain with waterproofing qualities or add a sealant. Oil-based stains create a thicker moisture barrier than water-based stains, though both are mold and mildew resistant. You’ll generally need to re-stain your fence every one to eight years to get full protection.

The best type of paint to use for chain link fences is an oil-based paint. Oil-based paints are durable and will withstand the elements well. Search for an oil-based paint with rust protection and aluminum flakes to further protect the longevity of the fence.

The easiest way to stain a fence depends on your experience and comfort level with the project. Applying stain with an airless sprayer or pump sprayer might get the stain job done faster, but it can be tricky. Paint rollers and stain brushes are slower but simpler for a DIY project.
