"We hired Uprise to replace and install a stone walkway and a backyard stone patio. From start to finish, our experience was phenomenal. Eric clearly explained the project plan and options. His ideas on design were extremely helpful and the masonry work is beautiful. We highly recommend Uprise construction."

"Ron called and I kinda gave him a hard time because I didn't want to waste my time with the pushy sales pitch I was expecting.  I'd already had a few other estimates (NOT from Angie's list).  He was courteous and, after discussing the situation, I decided to let him do an inspection.  He was very helpful and told me that I had to have masonry done first.  Very honest and forthright.  I have a lot of respect for this company."

"The team's efficiency astounded us. As promised, they removed the old roof and installed a brand new one in a single day. The staff was nice, and we had already hired them to do a masonry job. They cleaned up the property of the old roof and utilized a magnet device to pick up the nails (there were plenty, as you can guess)."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Yes, it is usually possible to repair a damaged brick mailbox. A professional brick mason or masonry contractor can perform the repairs. They can assess the damage, provide an estimate, and help you determine if the repair is worthwhile based on the mailbox's value and the extent of the damage. The repair process may involve sourcing replacement bricks and mortar. Damaged bricks can be cut out and replaced, or the mortar joints can be cut out and retucked. It's important to note that the new mortar may differ in color from the original. If the mailbox insert itself is damaged, it can typically be cut out and replaced as well. If your brick mailbox has been completely destroyed, you should check with your local building code enforcement office before rebuilding, as some areas do not allow brick mailboxes due to the potential hazard they pose to drivers.

Yes, depending on the type of pavers you have, you may need a specific type of sealant. For example, concrete pavers will bond differently than clay pavers or faux stone pavers and will demand a different type of sealer. If you’re unsure of the material and what type of sealant you need, you can contact the company that laid your pavers down for you.

Brick is the closest choice when seeking to capture the timeless look of stone with a more practical and budget-friendly option. When comparing stone versus brick siding, the price range of $200,000 to $400,000 for average brick home construction is dramatically lower compared to the cost of building a stone home. If you'd like to keep the stone aesthetic without the cost, stone veneer and manufactured stone are both less expensive than real stone.

Drilling into brick or mortar requires the use of a masonry drill bit. Masonry drill bits appear similar to standard drill bits except for the leading tip of the bit. The tip has a bulky carbide arrow-shaped end slightly larger than the rest of the bit shaft. Standard or high-speed drill bits designed for making holes in wood or metal don’t have the ruggedness or design shape you need to drill into brick. They may not go through the brick at all, and if they do, they’re more likely to overheat, crack, or dull before you finish drilling.

Brick and stone are durable, low-maintenance materials that offer excellent insulation, aesthetic appeal, and can increase property value.
