"We moved into our house in the winter and found out that the 70 year old insulation was quite deteriorated and moldy in the fall. We decided to have the old insulation removed so that we could cut down on heating bills and get rid of the smell. I contacted several companies and interacted with Joe from Good Life as the salesperson. He was kind enough to come to our house twice as the scope of the project changed. Both times, he drafted the proposal right at the end of the visit. His professionalism and the quoted price convinced us to go with Good Life Energy Savers. On day 1, the first crew came to remove the old insulation from the attic and used open cell spray foam to insulate the basement rim joists. On day 2, a second crew came to apply blown-in fiberglass insulation in the attic. Please note that the material they use is not irritant at all. Both crews worked really hard and cleaned up very well after they were done. I was especially impressed with the job 1st crew did to remove the old insulation from the slopes on a cathedral ceiling. My only minor complaint is regarding the patch in the ceiling at the end of the job. The guys used paper tape and there were bubbles all around. I guess they were very tired at the end of the day. Initially, I was planning to paint the room myself to cover the patch. But after removing the paper tape (due to bubbles) and using fiber mesh tape and joint compound, I figured I wouldn't be able to smooth the edges of the patch perfectly and hired a professional. Overall, it is a great company that provides quality job at a reasonable price. With the new insulation, the furnace runs much less frequently and I am pretty sure the job will pay for itself very in a few years."

"We got a couple of estimates to spray the cellar sills where the house meets the foundation. We chose Foamcoinc because of the knowledge of the person that came and gave us an estimate...I think his name was Dave. He had some good ideas on how to spray and seal under the bay windows, left samples of the foam with us, and some more information. I thought that was great so I could make a more informed decision. Not to mention the 'R' value of the foam he would use was much higher than the other company's and he price matched the other company's price in his estimate! They showed up about a half hour early, which was slightly inconvenient. Thank goodness my husband was home since I just got out of the shower when the doorbell rang. They came in and went right to work. They did everything they said they were going to do and a bit more than expected. The thickness of the spray insulation was thicker than they specified and they were neat and clean! A great experience! Try them out for yourself! "They were fabulous. We could not have been happier with the work. They were so efficient and did such a great job. They cleaned up after themselves. They did an awesome job. I would recommend them to anyone!

We got 3 estimates to insulate approx 2500 sq ft of attic and install insulation in foundation crawl space. Howard from Metro gave us estimate of $4500 for 15" of cellulose insulation for the attic..that was twice the amount of insulation from the lowest estimate ( 7" + crawlspace $3000), but didn't include crawlspace. Highest estimate was approx $6,000 for 12"+ crawlspace. Howard from Metro said we would be better off with more insulation in attic and over garage then with less and insulation in crawlspace. He brought in at no cost to us, someone to do infrared scan of house for energy leakage. How was found to be tight but he recommended to better seal front door (I did myself). We went with Howard, crew showed up on time, did what they had to, very polite, clean. Oh...almost forgot...he also installed two ducts from bathroom exhaust fans that were vented into attic (no charge)...I was having that section of roof redone in spring and roofers attached vents in roof to ducts (went very smooth).  I would highly recommend Metro."

This was a $150 big deal purchase. I don't think that went very well. It did not really mitigate our issues.  Later on we brought in other contractors from a different service to come in and seal some cracks and whatnot. They just sort of did the bare minimum. I think they charged more than the price of the deal because it was a larger surface area. They did not really solve any of the issues and hey didn't bring to light any other things that could be causing our insulation problems.

"We had been living in our house for 5 years and although the kitchen was a new addition, every winter my wife & I had noticed how noticeably the temperature differentiated especially after the winter of 2014/15.  And because it was a dirt floor with some wood and old construction debris strewn about.  I was not so keen on staying down there.  In doing my own investigation there was some piping and insulation under floor.
So when investigating estimates we called a number of "green" companies.  Out of the three companies that came, only Frank Petrullo with Eco Green Solutions, noticed the mold and a water leak coming from fridge line.  He took the time to show me where the water was coming, how mold had proliferated on the wood floor joists and beams.  The dirt floor was somewhat moist and light was visible from outside along foundation rim contributing to the mold and moisture in crawl space.  He explained each of our options and detailed the steps in sections of each estimate.
We opted to have a plumber fix the water leak, then franks crew came in, cleaned up the mold, then layed down the crawl space membrane, finally insulating floor & rim joist.  All in under two days.  The crew showed up on time, left the open sections of the house clean, and we immediately noticed a difference in kitchen and rest of house.  Walking around bare foot in kitchen is more comfortable, the kitchen is less noisy, and house humidity is maintained.

"It went wonderfully. Joey Jacinto was knowledgeable, patient and thorough. Much to our surprise, he proved that the old insulation in our attic was perfectly fine and more than adequate. He identified several places where we were losing heat (most notably up the fireplace chimney flue) and a block glass window in the kitchen. His infrared camera revealed the one spot in the house that was not insulated: the ceiling in the enclosed front porch. His recommendations were to get a glass fireplace door, to re-grout the block glass window, and to call in a local insulation company to blow insulation into the relatively small space above the ceiling of the enclosed front porch. I really appreciated that he was honest enough to suggest we go with a more local outfit to save money, since he'd have had to charge more for the long commuting time for such a small job."
