"Harvest was probably the nicest person we have ever had help us with a yard project. He called within minutes of my request, priced the project same day and after hearing about me being a freak with regards to my lawn he was more respectful to it than I am. The project was done better than I expected and his price was unbeatable. I cant say enough good things about Harvest and Blessed Landscaping. Thank you - we will 100% use them for future projects."

"I reached out to Jon after my lawn company damaged my property and I had to let them go. My lawn hadn't been cut in 2-3 weeks and I was frantic! He called back within 2 hours, was at my property 10 minutes later, and even squeezed me in for a same day cut! Great communication, service was excellent - I cannot recommend enough!"

"My experience with Fourever Cure Services was everything I could have hoped for. I’m a simple guy so I like when things are kept simple. I had a few rotted boards on my deck that needed replacing. They had them swapped out and even hit the deck with a pressure wash for probably the first time in a decade. It needed it! All very timely and efficient, would recommend."

Small jobs welcome

"The owner Ross painted and helped remodel my condo and copper mountain. I am 65 years old and have owned and managed personally 14 properties and had to deal with several contractors in my lifetime. Ross by far is the best and most professional contractor I have ever dealt with and my entire history of dealing with properties. Is fast and reliable communication is the best you’ll ever deal with. He and his staff are very professional and work fast. He is the type person that if he tells you it is going to rain at 3:12 PM I suggest you have your umbrella ready at 3:11 PM. I highly recommend him above and beyond any other contractor you will ever hire. His pricing is fair and he is willing to work with you and has a kind soul. Do yourself a favor and contact him before you hire any other company. My name is Bill Black phone number 970-744-9284 you can call me anytime For me to go into detail of how awesome he is."

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

Applying too much sealer to a deck might seem like extra protection, but it can cause more harm than good. Wood is a porous material with a limited capacity to absorb liquids. When you go overboard with sealer, the excess can't soak in and instead forms a film on the surface. This leftover layer is prone to peeling, cracking, and trapping moisture, ultimately defeating the purpose of sealing in the first place.

The best time to paint your deck is when temperatures are neither too cold (below 60 degrees) nor too hot (above 85 degrees). Always paint your deck when there’s no risk of rain. For fast-drying paint like acrylic or latex, ensure your deck can dry for at least four hours. Oil-based paints take longer to dry and may require 48 hours to completely cure.

Local building codes don’t specify the number of steps a deck can have before a railing is required, mainly because stair height varies widely. Most areas require decks 30 inches or higher to have a railing. While not exact, that roughly equates to four to seven steps.

The life expectancy of deck boards varies widely based on the material, climate, and maintenance. Untreated wood boards typically last 10 to 30 years with proper care, while pressure-treated boards can last up to 50 years. Hardwoods generally outlast softwoods. Composite boards also tend to last longer than natural wood. Environmental factors like arid or humid climates can shorten a deck's lifespan. To extend the life of wood decking, it's important to consistently clean and seal it to protect against moisture, UV light, and insects.

Yes, and in some cases, frozen ground may improve the digging process for footings due to sturdier conditions. It’s easier than working in muddy conditions, which are more common in the spring. Contractors may use machinery that makes this step a breeze, so harder ground shouldn’t affect the building process.
