"I don't wrote many reviews so it is a testament to Anthony's work that I submit this one on Angie's List. In total I called 7 plumbers to fix a toilet clog, all of which were from Angie's List. Of the 7, two didn't call back, one said they'd call back and never did, two gave me very high estimates, one sent a plumber after leaving a voicemail that they were on their way without verbal confirmation that I would be home and available (and then called to harass me for missing an appointment I never made), and Anthony returned my call within 30 minutes to confirm price and schedule a repair time early the next day. Anthony showed up on time and after speaking briefly I could tell he was an honest guy with a good heart. It took Anthony more effort than expected to clear my clogged toilet, which required the toilet to be pulled out of the ground. Anthony was upfront about the additional cost, which was still very reasonable. His rate was still less than the high estimates that I had received and I can only assume those high estimates would have ended up a lot higher given the extra work it took to clear the clog. I live in a new construction condo building and Anthony pointed out that the original plumber performed faulty work which is what caused the clog. I snapped some photos of the evidence and with this info I was able to have the building sponsor pay for Anthony's visit. To top it off, Anthony owns this business himself and I feel good about supporting a small business like his. Anthony is the only person I will call in the future to help with my plumbing needs and I have recommended him to the other building tenants and our management company."

"I worked with Jesse to help with a clogged bathtub drain after I tried plunging it myself. I explained over the phone that I was dealing with backflow problems and each time I used the bathroom sink the water would end up back in the tub. Unlike another plumber who said they would need to charge me to snake both the tub and the bathroom sink, Jesse explained it would likely just need to be the sink and there is an issue in the shared drainage pipe. Jesse communicated clearly when he'd arrive and on his availabilites, and helped resolve the issue quickly and cleaned up after himself. He also gave me additional advice on how to manage my drainage issues in the future, and another toilet problem I had. Good guy to work with, and got the job done. Would hire again."

"Let me start by saying they fixed my leak, cleaned up after himself, were available to start when I needed them, and did not leave any open areas. They quoted me a price to fix a water leak in between my first and second floor bathrooms. Tony quoted me $3800 (I only had $3600) saying this was a big job after he cut a 1ft 6in hole in my 1st floor bathroom ceiling to see what is going on. He said he had to also remove the 2nd floor toilet and create another hole to work through both floors (him and his partner) to access the leak. He called his partner in and by the time it was completed they did not even remove the 2nd floor toilet - which is why I agreed to the higher price because I was led to believe it was more labor intensive."

"The main problem we had originally was that the drain in the yard was clogged. He ran his drain snake machine and unclogged in issue. We had another issue in our basement and they had also explained what we should do in the future to prevent clogging there as well. Overall I was happy with the quick service and that they had explained the technical bits of the problem to us."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Yes, pressure-assist toilets leak, but less often than regular toilets. You might experience leaks from your toilet due to worn-out parts, water pressure in your plumbing that’s too high or low, poor installation, or cracks in your tank. These toilets are harder to fix on your own than gravity-fed ones, so it’s best to call a plumber if you can’t figure out what’s wrong,

Yes, frozen pipes can cause a toilet to stop working correctly. If the pipes are frozen, water cannot flow, which can lead to two main problems. First, the supply line to the toilet tank may be frozen, which prevents the tank from refilling with water after you flush. Second, the drain pipe itself can freeze, blocking water from flushing away. As a temporary solution for a non-refilling tank, you can manually add water, but this is not a long-term fix. To clear a frozen drain pipe, you can try pouring warm water into the toilet bowl or tank and then flushing, as the warm water may help thaw the ice blockage. Ultimately, the best course of action is to unfreeze the affected pipes to restore your toilet to full functionality.

If you need to repair part of your plumbing, it will cost an average of $330. The cost of plumbing repairs is influenced by several factors, including the type of drain and the specific repair needed.

Yes, a toilet, sink, and shower can share the same vent. This is a common installation method that can simplify plumbing and save space. However, there are important considerations. The vent and associated plumbing must be large enough to handle the demands of all fixtures without compromising the vent's effectiveness. Additionally, the toilet should always be located downstream of all other fixtures. Because requirements can vary and space might be limited, it is essential to check your local building and plumbing codes and consult with a qualified plumber to ensure the installation is done correctly.

Brown stains in your toilet bowl are most likely limescale. Limescale happens from lime being left behind from hard water evaporating. Once dried out, the minerals also catch dirt and bacteria which eventually accumulate into the brown or blackish stain you see in your toilet. To remove thick and hard limescale from your toilet, use a mixture of vinegar, lemon juice, and baking soda, and scrub with a metal scrubbing brush.
